In today’s episode, we spoke with Alex Herrera, MD, a professor and chief of the Division of Lymphoma in the Department of Hematology & Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation, as well as associate medical director of the Briskin Center for Clinical Research, at City of Hope in Duarte, California. In the exclusive interview, Dr Herrera discussed the March 2026 FDA approval of nivolumab (Opdivo) in combination with doxorubicin, vinblastine, and dacarbazine (AVD) for the treatment of adult and pediatric patients who are 12 years of age and older with previously untreated stage III or IV classical Hodgkin lymphoma. In addition to discussing the approval and where this regimen fits into day-to-day clinical practice, Herrera also dissected data from the phase 3 CA209-8UT/SWOG 1826 study (NCT03907488) that supported the regulatory decision.
