S1E14 The President v. The First Amendment

from in the clear · host CPR Network

On May 26th the President tweeted, "There is NO WAY (ZERO!) that Mail-In Ballots will be anything less than  substantially fraudulent. Mail boxes will be robbed, ballots will be  forged & even illegally printed out & fraudulently signed. The  Governor of California is sending Ballots to millions of people,  anyone....." Now any other day this would have been dismissed as just your typical Trump tweet, but this time was a little different. Twitter has now begun to fact check the President's tweets with a disclaimer demonstrating the falsehood of his claims and Trump is furious. As a result, the president has threatened retaliation against Twitter. Later in the episode we discuss whether Elon Musk is more Iron Man or James Bond villain, you won't want to miss it.  ©2020 Commoner Public Radio Network.
