S1E3 : Water and Sustainability

from Sustainability 101 Podcast · host Pratiksha More

In this episode (Part 01), Pratiksha and Pratik talk about one of the world's most valuable yet carelessly used resource: WATER.  In many regions, changing precipitation, melting snow, and ice due to climate change are altering hydrological systems, affecting water resources in terms of quality and quantity. Water can pose a serious challenge to sustainable development but managed efficiently and equitably, water can play a key enabling role in strengthening the resilience of social, economic, and environmental systems.  Sustainable Water Management means the ability to meet the water needs of the present generations without compromising the ability of future generations to do the same. With climate change, the water cycle is expected to undergo significant change. By reducing the amount of water we use, we can better protect against future drought years. " The trick is to make water conservation a way of life — not just something we think about once in a while."
