After the duel between Stone Cold Jane Austen and Rory 'The Hammer' Kilgannon, the Rowdy Boys are tasked with clearing Loch Caite (the Last Lake) of a creature that has stopped all travel by ship to the Hollow Mountain mines. Any transportation is now by land, leaving goods and supplies to the mercy of Wilderfolk raids; they've not heard word from the mines for weeks and the traders of Avondol are beginning to suffer from it.
