S1E9 - We Don't Need No Validatioon

from Dungeons 'n' Durags: The Podcast

[Reposted from the now defunct Ebony Podcast Network] On February 25, President Joseph R. Biden nominated Judge Kentaji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court of the United States. If confirmed, Judge Jackson will be the first black woman to sit on the most powerful bench in the nation. (She's already made history being the first Black woman nominated! It only took a cupla hundred years!) When President Biden made his announcement a few weeks ago that he’d nominate a Black woman, as expected, the right-wing conservative movement lost their collective sh*t. Political columnist and "The Bulwark Editor" Bill Kristol tweeted that Biden shouldn’t have announced it. He should have just done it, without making a public display. That tweet stirred up some discussion among Ron, JD, and Yolanda about the topic. So much so that they made this episode. Which, is a perfect topic to form a bridge from Black History Month to Women’s History Month. Email your thoughts to [email protected]. Do you think it was a good idea for Biden to do that?
