She grew up in a poor and toxic environment, which made her develop a survival mechanism of expecting the worst. This technique backfired on her in adulthood, when she realized that it was only making her more negative. She decided to fight back against her self destructive thoughts by acknowledging them and speaking affirmations with meaning. Through this journey, she realized that the hardest war is with herself.
