He resented his mom and was angry with his dad for it. To this day, he doesn't know who his father is. His story sadly is one that is shared by so many Men of Color in this country. Rather than applying a stereotypical expectation on John of the "black boy without a father", I wanted you to hear his story and the Truth of his identify that found him when he was at his lowest point.
