S2 E12: Allyship in Action

Gender equality is a shared responsibility. In the Season 2 finale of Credo Voices, we welcome Selen Okay Akcali, Chairperson of Yanındayız Derneği (We Stand By You Association), a pioneering organisation in Turkey engaging men as active allies for gender equality. Selen shares her journey from the private sector into advocacy and why meaningful progress requires men and women working together. Founded in 2018, Yanındayız addresses violence against women and children, supports women’s participation in the workforce, and promotes more equitable household roles through a bold he-for-she approach. This conversation explores cultural resistance, the power of honest dialogue, and what it truly takes to move from awareness to responsibility. Her work aligns with #SDG5: Gender Equality, #SDG8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and #SDG16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions, paving the way for a future rooted in justice and collaboration. Don’t miss this compelling discussion as Selen shares her vision for a world where men and women unite for true equality.
