S2 E156: What If This Isn’t the End of Your Story?

What happens when something in your life really does end?Maybe it was a relationship, a season, an opportunity, a plan you were certain would work out, or even a failure of your own making. Sometimes there is no going back to the way things were. The stump remains. The loss was real. But does the ending of one thing mean God has stopped working?In S2 E156 of Unpolished but Called, we're looking at Naomi, Joseph, Peter, and a tree in the book of Job to explore what Scripture says about loss, failure, grief, restoration, and moving forward with God when life doesn't look the way we thought it would.Naomi believed she had returned home empty, yet she couldn't see what God would eventually do through Ruth. Joseph couldn't see God's purpose from the pit or the prison. And Peter—after boldly declaring that he would never deny Jesus—failed Him in the very way he believed he never would. Yet Christ met Peter on the other side of that failure and called him forward.This isn't a promise that everything you lose will be restored, that every painful situation will work out the way you want, or that your “comeback is coming.” Scripture doesn't promise us that.But it does give us something far greater:The ending of one thing does not mean the end of God's faithfulness.And ultimately, our hope isn't found in getting our old lives back. Our hope is found in Jesus Christ—the One who died, was buried, and rose again.
