S2: E19: The Voice of the Lord

In this episode, Pastor Rhonda and Pastor Seth catch up from a couple weeks off. Vacation has been great, but it is good to be back to routine. We discuss this weeks lectionary passage, looking at the Amos and Gospel passage. This weeks passages are hard to digest, but are very important and speak to a lot of the heart of the issues we are dealing with now in the church and world. It is so important for us to continually stay in tune with the voice of God so that we can live the life that God desires for us to live. Israel did not. This pushed them away from selfless living into abuse and misuse of the things God has given for their own benefit. The punishment for this is not destruction, but that they will no longer be able to hear the voice of God. Even if they search. In the gospel, Mary chooses to sit and listen to Jesus, while Martha works. Mary chooses right. What are the choices we make? How are we listening to the voice of God?
