Welcome to July's episode, where guest hosts Kim Balasubramaniam and Sally Mitchell discuss the highs and lows of purchasing, renovating and living in a period property. It's a bit of a switch from the norm as both hosts are Brokers at The Mortgage Mum. Kim is a Senior Broker who has lived in various period properties over the years and is currently renovating her 18th century cottage. Sally Mitchell is a Senior Broker and Business Manager and has lived in period properties ranging from the 15th Century to 19th Century for the last 35 years. Kim and Sally are both passionate about the historic significance of period properties and the different architectural styles and decoration they represent.  They believe they are quite simply unique and should be celebrated as the stars of the property world. Sally says, "We understand that taking on an older property can be daunting but there is a lot of advice and help out there and, with a few tips, it doesn't have to be a minefield." Kim says, "We want to encourage people to become the custodians of these very special buildings and look after them so they can be passed onto future generations as living, breathing homes."
