In part 3 of our Disability for DUMMIES series, the panelists will be making their way through a top-15 list of simple truths related to Disability. Moral compass check: any claim that vulnerable & disabled are well taken care of is FALSE. 2. Having a disability is hard. 3. Disability is an added personal expense. 4. A disabled life is worth living. 5. Provincial PWD Shelter Allowance of $375 or $500 per month is discriminatory. 6. Disability income support is an obligation, not charity. 7. Political solutions to disability need to be nuanced 8. Accessibility isn't always accessible 9. Locking your dog inside a hot car is a crime. Putting PWDs in unsafe or unhealthy situations is very bad also. 10. Persons with Disabilities have sex, get over it. 11. Paper straws suck because they don't suck. 12. Metaphorically speaking, pulling a bad tooth is not the same as fixing it. 13. Broken elevators remain very still. 14. Wheelchairs are not optional. 15.
