A frequent flyer on literary longlists, Watt has published two previous books—the gothic novel Mad Dog, Doubleday Canada (2001) which was a Globe and Mail notable book 2001 and the mini book, Camino Meditations, by Hamilton Stone Editions, U.S. (2014). Watt has lived in five countries, but she now lives in Ontario with her partner and some diverse goldfish.
