S2 Ep. 50 - Reasons for an Atheist to Read the Bible

From the standpoint of a logical, free thinking adult, the Bible is not merely a curiosity or book of fables. It is a rich, scholarly, and accurate, ancient manuscript that should be read for many important reasons that have nothing to do with religion. I am a spiritual person (to those who are not), but putting that aside, this collection of ancient works far surpasses the other ancient works that people like to read like; "Aesop's Fables", "The Iliad and the Odyssey", "Socrates", "Plato", or "Beowulf" without even touching on the spiritual or religious. This episode explains the reasons to read the Bible even if you have no interest in God or spiritual things. These reasons are historical, scientific, moral, cultural, sociological, and scholarly.
