Amanda Hamilton began working for the BBC, raising funds for drama productions, where she found her talent and passion for negotiating and cutting deals. Quitting her corporate job to start a business selling high-end teas from a Tuk-Tuk van at a railway station in South East London, she soon started experimenting in her kitchen with a blend of spices, after first trying Chai whilst backpacking across India. Customers loved her recipe and she soon started selling to local coffee shop baristas, before moving onto supplying major supermarkets and high street coffee chains. Amanda expanded the business, eventually exporting her product to over 20 countries and becoming CEO of her own multinational business… Drink Me Chai. Amanda left a job at the BBC to start a high-end hot beverage business with a friend selling tea out of a Tuk-Tuk van in Lewisham Station funded with a loan from the Prince’s Trust. She started testing and perfecting her chai tea spice recipe in her own kitchen. It became popular with her own customer, and then local barristers who loved her unique blend and bought batches from her to sell in their local coffee shops.
