Carrie Traxler began her real estate investing career in shared housing 20 years ago at the peak of the real estate market in 2003. She bought her first investment property at the age of 20 while going to college full-time and also working a full-time $10/hour entry-level job. To afford the 4-bed, 2-bath home, she started renting out the other three bedrooms while she lived there.What started as a means to make ends meet, has now turned into her ministry through Kingdom Builders Properties to provide affordable housing to men who are in a state of transition. Most of her tenants have a felony background and are moving into the area for work, recently divorced, or coming out of homelessness or a drug or alcohol rehabilitation program.
