In December 2007 during a training SCUBA dive, he suffered a catastrophic equipment failure under the ice, 80 feet from his return entrance hole. He was unconscious and not breathing when he was pulled from beneath the ice. The subsequent journey through the trauma was life changing. This is his story of trauma, near death, ptsd, and slow and steady recovery. Robert invested in a horse while away from work, and it was his connection with this horse that literally saved Robert from his suicidal thinking after everything he had been through. As with all our stories, we focus on the journey, and the triumph and this is no exception. Robert now works with people, and horses, with his own trauma recovery company.
