S2: Episode 48: Resident Evil (1996 and 2002)

from The Horrorble People's Podcast · host Horrorble People's Network

It's October and The Horrorble People's Podcast is kicking off the glorious month with something different, but truly terrifying - and we've enlisted the help of N4L Gaming to get it done! What is this big, laborious project? How about a game - but not just any game. On the one year anniversary of this podcast the team has gathered together to bring you the story of the birth of a new genre in horror, and the journey to get there. That's right, we're covering the one and only (unless you can't all the re-releases) RESIDENT EVIL, directed by Shinji Mikami and released on the Sony Playstation. Join Anthony and Alix AND another Alex as they dive deep into the beginnings of Capcom and how they made a movie licensed game about a haunted house and used to to build one of the most successful gaming franchises of all time! We follow director Shinji Mikami from his time making Disney games to eventually REmaking his own horror classic (and see how it holds up). We also look at the 5th generation of consoles, and how the Sony Playstation cemented itself in the gaming industry - turning from Underdog to full on titan. This is a big, history heavy episode so strap in and watch out for mutant dogs! As always - like, subscribe, share with your friends, give us 5 S.T.A.R.S and don't become a Jill Sandwich!Classic Horror 2 by Kevin MacLeod Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License
