The single mother in the story needs comfort as her marriage is broken. The evil entities are intent upon luring, Suzie, the single mother into despair with the goal of eliminating her. She is surrounded by Christians who symbolize the characteristics of God, which Hope, Faith, Joy, Grace, and Mr. Mercy. They impart wisdom as she goes through the turmoil in her life.
