After 8 years of getting “crispy around the edges” as a high school biology teacher in the NYC public schools, She decided to follow her heart … and start her first entrepreneurial venture with Memories Out of the Box. Helping people tell their stories through their own stuff, cherished mementos, and heirlooms, she turns memories into visual narratives capturing the essence of their lives. Through her second venture, Show & Tales she hosts exhibitions of interactive story-sharing about the things that matter and you can watch more on her YouTube show “Things that Matter”Making the bold decision to sell her Brooklyn apartment and embark on a journey of exploration in her 21-foot Winnebago, affectionately named Brooklyn, Martie’s plan was to travel and find a new place to call home, but life had other plans. Now, splitting her time caring for her 88-year-old mother in Vermont and her 90-year-old mom-in-law in Albuquerque, she has embraced her role and learned lessons about life and herself along the way.
