S2E14: When I Had a Talk with God - Interview with Heather Jefferson

from Dream to Rise · host Cynthia Encinas-Concordia

The scriptures teach, “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you” (Matthew 7:7). When you turn to God, He promises to answer your prayers—but sometimes it can be hard to recognize His voice. Sometimes God doesn’t seem to answer prayers right away—or at all. Does that mean He doesn’t care or that He’s not listening? No. Sometimes, God waits to answer our prayers because He trusts us to make the right decision. Other times, God requires us to patiently wait for an answer so we can build our faith and trust in Him. And on some occasions, God gives us answers but they may not be what we’d hoped for. Whatever the answer, take comfort in the fact that God always listens when you pray, and He will give you the right guidance at the right time. Our prayers may seem to go unanswered because God is keeping us from something that isn’t best. He may answer prayer with a “Yes,” “No” or “Wait.” That might not be what we want to hear, but we see only part of the picture where God sees all of it. Our guest, Heather Jefferson, is a writer, blogger and photographer with a passion for faith and creativity.  She believes that any gift is useless if she can’t use it to serve others in some way.  Her dream is to use the difficult and traumatic experiences she’s gone through to inspire and teach others how to find the blessings in their own trials and difficulties. But how did she discover God’s plan for her?  Let us listen to Heather and she will reveal to us how God communicated to her.
