S2E14 with Man Parrish

*HEADSPIN* Yes, yes y'all and we don't stop. This week we explore the roots and fundamentals of Hip-Hop and Electro with the incredible boundary breaking force of nature that is Man Parrish. Given his nickname 'Man' by none other than Andy Warhol Man Parrish has been a part of the New York club scene since the days of Studio 54, he partied with Halston, Bianca Jagger, Madonna and countless others. His groundbreaking musical style gave electro just the jolt it needed to reach the mainstream with his seminal cut 'Hip-Hop/Bee Bop'. He broke into the UK Top 10 with the Hi-Energy ode to the gay club scene 'Male Stripper' reaching Number 4 in 1986. He has composed music for the ballet and been inducted into the Museum of Modern Arts permanent collection. What you really need to know though is that this is one hell of an interview. Prepare to clutch your pearls and pick your jaw off the floor when listening to the incredible stories of Man Parrish. In keeping with this Hip-Hop theme we interview the incredible DeeJay Random from the scratch collective the Steel Devils and ask him about the actual work involved in becoming a true scratch DJ. Random is an engaging, salt of the earth music lover who has *done the work* so you don't have too. If you have ever wondered what it takes to become a scratch DJ he is here to spill the beans. Before all that Anne & Eamon celebrate Annes good news as she finally breaks into the A list with a residency at BBC6Music. This episode contain a lot of bad language and descriptions of a very difficult childhood so please be prepared for some shocking revelations.
