S2E15: Would My Disability Stop Me from Living My Purpose? - Interview with Jamie Haberman

from Dream to Rise · host Cynthia Encinas-Concordia

Have you been thinking that having a life purpose when living with chronic illness is no longer possible? That a life purpose is only possible if you have no health issues?   You may think it’s no longer possible.  You can feel devastating. Lonely too. Especially when you look at people around you getting on with their lives like you used to.   It can feel like chronic illness takes your life purpose away from you.   Finding a sense of purpose can truly brighten our good days and give us the strength to push through those tough ones. It’s like having a beacon of hope that reminds us of our illness and struggles don’t have the power to define our entire lives.   Even if you’re facing uncertainties or grappling with new limitations due to your chronic illness, remember that your purpose is not confined by these challenges. It has the power to flourish and shine in unexpected ways, no matter what life throws your way. Allow yourself to explore and redefine what your purpose means to you now. Embrace the journey of self-discovery and growth. You might find that your purpose takes on a new depth, a new dimension that you hadn’t imagined before.   Let us listen to our guest, Jamie Haberman, who discovered her passion for hospice care 16 years ago and love helping patients and families find comfort and peace at end-of-life.   Although she struggles with chronic pain, fatigue, chronic illness, she had her share of personal struggles, she pushes through and not let it stop her from accomplishing her dreams and goals.  She believes that God has a plan for her and every experience in her life has happened to make her the woman she is today.   In February 2023, she started an end-of-life coaching, Hospice Buddy.  It does not only coach and support services, but also an online store and educational blogs and articles to help people understand and work through the changes and challenges experienced during the end-of-life process.    Let us welcome Jamie Haberman
