S2E35: Heaven's Alchemy - Interview with Norm Wielsch

from Dream to Rise · host Cynthia Encinas-Concordia

Trusting God is not merely an acceptance of divine providence, it is an intentional surrender, a relinquishing of control into the hands of a higher wisdom. In moments of doubt and confusion, trusting God becomes a lantern in the darkness, a source of light that illuminates the path when our own vision falters. It is a silent conversation with the divine, where our fears find solace, and our burdens are lifted by the unseen hands that cradle us. Our guest speaker, Norm Wielsch, was an agnostic police officer for 26-years and was exposed to many traumatic incidents. He achieved the rank of commander of a multi-jurisdictional narcotic task force.  In 1998, he was diagnosed with PTSD and then with an incurable debilitating neuro-muscular disease that caused loss of feeling, muscle strength, and mobility in his hands and feet. This led to his being addicted to opioids which were prescribed to alleviate pain. A lot of things happened which led him to a 14-year prison sentence.  However, he responded to God’s calling through divine intervention and got healed. He is now an Addiction Counselor, chaplain, and a Christian Mental Health Coach specializing in trauma with the intent to start a first responder ministry after he obtained his master’s degree in theology and Christian Counseling. I wrote a book called, “Christ-Centered Healing of Trauma: Healing a Broken Heart” and a small group study guide. The book is the primary curriculum for “Hope and Healing for Warriors” which is a veteran and first responder ministry and with more healing ministries to follow. Please welcome Norm Wielsch.
