from Social JustUs · host Social JustUs

It's no secret that COVID-19 has had an impact on us all. Many have lost jobs, their lives, or have felt the anxiety of being separated from their loved ones - but what's it like living in the midst of a global pandemic in the populous country of India? We spoke with Kate the CEO of Dignity Freedom Network (DFN) to talk about life in the midst of the worlds biggest lockdown, where India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown, limiting movement of the entire 1.3 billion population of India to try and stop the spread of COVID-19. At the time of this chat, India reported 100,000 cases of Coronavirus. To date, India has reported 355,000 cases and 12,000 deaths, but many believe the reality is far worse. Hear how the pandemic has impacted India's most vulnerable communities, and find out how you can help. For more information about the work DFN is doing on the ground, or to support the cause visit: https://dfn.org.au/ and 'like' them on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/dfnanzIf you haven't already, please make sure to subscribe and rate the podcast, and keep up to date on our socials!https://www.instagram.com/socialjustus.podcast/https://www.facebook.com/socialjustus.podcastSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
