S2E41: Rising Above Labels - Interview with Jenna Talleda

from Dream to Rise · host Cynthia Encinas-Concordia

One crucial aspect of overcoming an eating disorder is developing a resilient mentality. This involves recognizing that one's value and identity are not defined by their body shape or size. Facing societal pressure to conform to certain beauty standards can be deeply hurtful but is essential to remember that these labels do not determine one's worth as a person. Eating disorders can take a toll on both the body and mind, often stemming from a complex interplay of emotional, psychological, and societal factors. However, with the right mindset and support, individuals can navigate their way towards recovery and reclaim their sense of self-worth. Recovery from an eating disorder requires a shift in mindset, focusing on self-acceptance, self-compassion, and self-care. Our guest speaker, Jenna Talleda, begun working with clients last 2017, who had eating disorders.  After she realized that she had her own issues with food and body, including chronic dieting, emotional eating, feeling guilty and out of control around food. Intuitive eating changed her life and the lives of her clients to be able to exist and have food freedom. So now, she helps people, especially those who struggling with eating disorders, on how to improve their relationship with food and body without restriction or fighting with the scale. Let us welcome Jenna Talleda.
