Did you know that up to the Partition of India in 1947, Kashmiri Muslims lived in conditions that very much resembled serfdom? She is a professor of South Asian History in the Department of History at Lafayette College, where she teaches courses on the history of the modern world, SouthAsian history, and Islam in the Modern World.
