Julie Murphy interviews award winning poet Nickole Brown. Nickole reads from her stellar chapbook The Donkey Elegies and speaks passionately about donkeys, language and what is holy. If you haven't heard Nickole read, you're in for a real treat! Nickole Brown teaches at the Sewanee School of Letters MFA Program and the Great Smokies Writing Program at UNCA. She lives with her wife, poet Jessica Jacobs, in Asheville, NC, where she periodically volunteers at several different animal sanctuaries. A chapbook of called To Those Who Were Our First Gods won the 2018 Rattle Chapbook Prize, and a long sequence called The Donkey Elegies was published as a chapbook by Sibling Rivalry Press in 2020.
