In this episode I interview Christa Newkirk Co-Author of The HBCU Experience: North Carolina A&T 2nd Edition book coming out September 2020!  About Christa: Christa Newkirk is an advocate for women, mental health and education. She is passionate about all forms of artistic expression; and with her imaginative and strategic mind, she works both sides of her brain moving from the big picture to the minute details with ease. Her professional experience includes over 10 years in a variety of marketing, development and database-driven roles. Currently, Ms. Newkirk works in higher education where she assists development officers with donor identification and cultivation in addition to overseeing engagement activities for its alumni. Through EclectikRead Marketing LLC, Ms. Newkirk uses both her professional and personal experiences to speak life into people, products and ideas to reach their full potential. She believes that regardless of ones journey – which is often full of twists and turns, a solution is always available in business and in life. Additionally, she values giving back and has been involved in many community organizations to include Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Deltas of Charlotte Foundation, Mental Health America of Central Carolinas and First Book. She was recently listed in the 6th and 7th editions of Who’s Who in Black Charlotte. A California native, Ms. Newkirk has earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing from North Carolina A&T State University and dual master’s degrees in marketing and international business from University of Colorado, Denver. In her spare time, she enjoys watching or playing sports, spending time with family and friends, and exploring the great outdoors both near and far.
