This week’s ship.energy podcast features Andy Erlam, Executive Chairman of Carbon Neutral Petrol Ltd, a UK-based start-up which markets its own patented synthetic fuel production process. In the podcast, Andy discusses CNPL’s activities, the rationale behind synthetic fuels and which they think has the best chance of success, and how fuel producers can deal with the extensive technical and cost issues in making synthetic fuels. Andy has had a varied career in campaigning, politics and business, including lecturing at Goldsmith’s College, London, advising an MEP on energy policy and being an advisor to a UK Cabinet Minister, as well as running a consultancy advising industry and the voluntary sector on EU policy.
