EPISODE OVERVIEW  The events that occurred in the Greenwood District of Tulsa (Black Wall Street) on May 31-June 1 1921 are often referred to as a riot, but it was also a massacre.   Riot - Wild or violent disorder, confusion, or disturbance; tumult; uproar. Massacre - an indiscriminate and brutal slaughter of people. Members of the KKK and other white supremacists used the false claim of sexual assault against a 17yo white woman by a 19yo black man to insight the riot.
