Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. In 1993, after the success of Batman: The Animated Series, Warner Brothers planned a follow up film for home release, yet late in the production, they switch gears and decided to release the film in theaters on Christmas Day which was met with critical acclaim but not enough marketing to make a dent at the box office.
