Talking Salford is back!The flagship podcast from the University of Salford returns with a third season of stories celebrating the inspirational stories of our esteemed alumni.Our first guest is Kelsey Sheridan, who runs marathons in her spare time, but as a student at Salford, lost her mobility during her second year.The BA Musical Arts graduate was diagnosed with myalgic encephalomyelitis, otherwise known as chronic fatigue in January 2016. For many years, she used a wheelchair or crutches to move around and in 2019, she took home the wonderful assistance dog Hamble, to help her with her day-to-day.Four years later, her life took a big turn as she started to regain the strength in her legs and she forced herself to learn to walk again. By April 2024, she took the big step to start running and never looked back.Nine years after her diagnosis, she ran and finished the Manchester Marathon in April 2025. We caught up with her for a chat during her training for this year's marathon to reflect on the last ten years of her life.Talking Salford is an official podcast from The University of Salford.
