It’s surprising how easily we let our need for approval — and our fear of rejection — shape who we become, often without even realizing it.One way to overcome this way of thinking is to consider the difference between being nice and being good. We should focus more on being good for the benefit of others (cui bono in Latin) than being nice because sometimes being good is not nice.
