In this episode, Deborah chats with Dele Momodu the CEO and Publisher of Ovation International Magazine. Dele spoke very candidly to us about his background most especially academic strengths in Yoruba and English (literature). He studied at the Obafemi Awolowo University, worked for free as a journalist, built his network, and time away from his home country Nigeria opened an avenue to create a magazine (platform) that celebrates and gives publicity to Africa’s crème de la crème. DCHT listeners, we talk a lot about networking on this platform, our conversation with Dele further explores and truly confirms networking is an art. Deborah states “as a young girl from Nigeria growing up in South East London, Ovation magazine would catch my eyes on the newsstand. Usually at the bottom or at the side of the rack but nevertheless the large glossy magazine would still standout with pictures of glamourous Africans”.
