S4#87🌞😎🇺🇸🇬🇧 As if in suspension, the Château de Balleroy
from Com d'Archi
Located in Calvados, the Château de Balleroy is well known to specialists for its remarkable "suspended" staircase. It was designed by the famous François Mansart. The architect François Mansart, who designed the Château de Maisons, built the Château de Balleroy for Monsieur de Choisy from 1626 to 1636. The château is also famous for its Balloon Museum, installed in the property's outbuildings by American billionaire Malcolm Forbes, the former owner who died in 1990.An architectural gem as much as an urban project, it is surrounded by formal gardens and vast expanses of countryside. François Mansart's work has stood the test of time, almost unchanging, as if in suspension, in the image of the staircase that houses it, and faithful to the balloon spirit with which it is now imbued. In this issue of Com d'Archi, we discuss the "anchoring" and architectural qualities of this innovative 17th-century project.Image teaser DR © Massimo SantiSound engineering: Julien Rebours___If you like the podcast do not hesitate:. to subscribe so you don't miss the next episodes,. to leave us stars and a comment :-),. to follow us on Instagram @comdarchipodcast to find beautiful images, always chosen with care, so as to enrich your view on the subject.Nice week to all of you !
