Burn out is defined as a state of emotional, physical, and mental exhaustion caused by excessive and prolonged stress. It occurs when you feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, and unable to meet constant demands (or "all the things."). Have you been experiencing this? Have you been burned out? According to my research, speaking with other moms, and going through life myself, working mothers have been experiencing burn out throughout our entire motherhood journey, but most significantly, during the last year. Due to the pandemic, we have been working from home, while running our side businesses, being teacher, nurse, lunch lady, counselor, and friend to our children, managing our homes, managing our relationships, and so much more. We have had an increase of demands on our life - which is good enough reason for us to be burned out.
