S4,E6: Sailing Into History

from Shadow Carriers · host Zack Meyer, Orion Couling

[ S.S. Hudson]On September 15, 1901, the S. S. Hudson left Duluth with a cargo of wheat and flax, bound for Buffalo. It was a fine steel vessel, fast and sturdy. But the next day, a fierce storm swept across Lake Superior, and the Hudson vanished without a trace. No distress signals were heard, no wreckage was found, and no survivors were ever recovered. What happened to the Hudson and its crew? And why do some people claim to have seen the Hudson sailing the lake as a ghost ship, over a century after its sinking? Today we explore the mysteries of this tragedy through the music of legendary Great Lakes folk singer, Lee Murdock._____________________________Please be sure to like us on social media: Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/shadowcarriersInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/shadowcarriersIf you like what you hear and want to buy your storytellers a drink, you can catch us at @shadowcarriers on Venmo. If you want more "Shadow Carriers", check out our Patreon at: patreon.com/shadowcarriers.
