S4 Episode 2 How Psychosis Made Me and Did Not Break Me with Erin Wall

from Outstanding Women Leaders · host outstandingwomenleaders

After receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from San Diego Christian College, Erin prepared to follow in her family's footsteps and become a naval officer. Less than a month in, she took a leave to spend time with her boyfriend, a decision that would lead her down a path of derealization, psychosis, and hospitalization.  Through the love and support of her family, and Erin's sheer determination to find success through 'failure,' she went back to school to earn her Master’s in Project Management from Grantham University. It was her that Erin began writing her first book, From Failure to Success: How Psychosis Made Me and Did Not Break Me, to aid in her recovery from mental and physical struggles, AND to help others who have fought the same battles.  Her book has already inspired me to share my own experience with psychosis for the first time in public. The universe (God) really brought this episode together. Literally, we ended up working an in-person event together a few days before we were scheduled to record the podcast!  Tune in to hear OWL about Erin's story of thriving through psychosis, diagnosis of bipolar, and path to healing and living a less-medicated life AND hear Katie (that's me!) share her own experience with psychosis and recent diagnosis of ADHD.  Check out Erin's book!
