S4E1 - Our Subverted History
from The Two Tongues Podcast · host twotonguespodcast
One part alternative history, one part social commentary, we kick off season 4 with an exploration of Asha Logos' YouTube channel entitled "Our Subverted History." This one is where common sense intersects with political correctness. We discuss Indo-European as a historical ethnic and linguistic family and how it's been maligned by modern notions of "whiteness." We get comfortable with being uncomfortable, asking why it's ok in some instances to be proud of and identify with the ethnic group to which you belong and not in others. We ask to what end history is continually re-written and re-interpreted, and ultimately attempt to answer the question: How can we know ourselves as individuals. Enjoy ;)
