On today’s episode, Brian Lamar and Producer Brian are joined by Arundati Dandapani, Chief Editor and Intelligence Officer at the Market Research and Intelligence Association (MRIA-ARIM), to discuss the recent MRIA seminar she organized last week. The seminar, called Are Polls Obsolete? Boosting Trust, Accuracy and Data Quality in Research, brought in an all-star line-up to discuss polling, the state of the industry, understanding how sampling and biases can impact results, the public perceptions of polling, and even the future of it. It featured both academics and industry experts. We kick off the episode with Arundati and Brian giving a recap of the seminar, including what led her to organize this event, and the goals she had in mind for the event. She then gets into the attendees and the engagement she had throughout the seminar. This leads into a conversation on the feedback she has received about the event overall and the speakers. They also talk about what Arundati would have done differently knowing what she knows now. Brian then digs into the challenges Arundati faced pulling this event together.
