Gail is editor of the online environmental literary magazine, Canary (www.canarylitmag.org) and holds an M.A. in English Literature/Creative Writing from the Ohio State University. She has taught both subjects for over 25 years. Her poems have been finalists for the Pablo Neruda Prize, won the Women’s National Book Association Award and were First Runner-Up for the Steve Kowit and Catamaran Poetry Prizes.  Her sixth poetry book, Walking Each Other Home (Longship Press, 2023), was a finalist for the Blue Light and Richard Snyder Prizes, and her chapbook The Mother/Daughter Papers was finalist for the Comstock and Poetry Box Chapbook Prizes in 2023.
