S5 EP12 Dallas: Barbecue 2- The " Bare Chests , Denim Dress and Total Devastation" Episode

Send us Fan MailA Southfork barbecue is supposed to be loud, hot, and full of petty shade. This one starts that way and then stops the whole party in its tracks. We’re recapping Dallas Season 5 Episode 13, Barbecue II, and the emotional swing is brutal in the best soap opera way. Sue Ellen is the center of gravity for me here. She’s stepping into real independence for the first time, trying to choose a home, manage money that still feels tied to JR, and protect her peace even when family love comes knocking. Clayton Farlow’s support gives her something she rarely gets in Dallas: calm, practical guidance without an angle. Meanwhile, Miss Ellie tries to hold onto tradition and keep the Ewing orbit stable, even as the divorce mess and public attention keep pressing in. Around them, the Dallas machine keeps turning: Lucy draws the wrong kind of attention at a bookstore shoot, the Barnes and Wentworth crew rolls back into town, and Cliff Barnes starts looking like he might finally turn Ewing 6 into real power. Bobby’s adoption situation tightens as legal realities creep closer, and Donna’s book tour plus Ray’s insecurity adds another spark to an already volatile day. Then comes the gut-punch: news about Jock’s crash lands, and you can feel the air leave the scene. If you love Dallas recaps, primetime soap opera breakdowns, and character-driven commentary with humor and heart, hit play.
