Welcome to another episode of Radio Rebel, and it's called War, Spark, and I'm your host, Alberto Calderon Andro, and he was his back. He was the last week. All the time, how you doing, how you? I'm not all the time, I'm just like a version of all the time.
Yeah, yeah, he's back, not 100%, but no worries. We have a great friend of ours. There are no today, behind Brian, behind you today. I'm doing wonderful.
So good to be here guys. So I'm happy. Yeah, yeah. The only time you've been here was when we did our solo trivia, which you came, you conquered, you destroyed, and you were here a little bit over a month for our three F finale.
Are you ready? Are you in practicing? I don't study. I just watch it, and then I know it.
Oh, there you go. I got to click that out. I'll tweet that out before the tree. I just watched it, and he knows it.
So you really watch out. But man, it's been a week. So yeah, like I mentioned, I'll just tell you a little bit. Under the weather, he's a trooper.
He came on today to try to battle it out as we talk a little bit of Andor and a few other things. I was a little worried that when I found out that he was sick that he might not be here today. And I was like, how am I supposed to annoy him with my doctor who knowledge? So that was like...
The minute I was debating, I was going to be able to do it. I was like, am I going to be able to keep up with the fuck? That's what I didn't know. So you knew even before I did, but he might not make it.
I tweeted, I had COVID. Buck tweeted out, people reached out through the end. And you're the only one who said nothing. Oh, well, that cannot tell you where we are at right now.
Yeah. Yeah, I didn't see it. I'll be honest. I didn't see it.
I don't know when you tweeted out if you really did. I can't remember even tweeting it out. I think you didn't. You just said, like, I'm not saying, you know, I'm saying, I'm saying, you don't remember anything.
Buck reached out. It's not reached out. Yeah. All right.
So all right. I'll take, I'll take blame. Sorry. Hopefully you're feeling better today.
I'm a little bit better today. All right. Subscribe, comment, like this video. For at the second, I thought doing the episode for my bed, like...
It's the power of the industry. I need more voice power. If you want to share some of my videos, make sure you like this video. Make sure you subscribe to it as we mentioned a few minutes ago.
Early December, December 10th, I believe we have our Star Wars 3. A finale. Buck will be here with a lot of other great contests. I'm going to go a little bit late that day, six, three, seven.
I'm not sure when I'm not surprised. I might be a little bit late because of work. So make sure you subscribe and have more notifications. All that stuff.
Leave us a comment down below later if you're watching this. And as we always say, thanks for being here. And make sure to help out with the Amidala initiative for equality. Thanks, I don't know why I put that again.
And also for the National Network of Abortion Fund and the What Choice Fund, Raison, Health Repartory. As we always say, all that information is down in the description of this video and all the other ones we can find it there. And I know it's difficult. There's a lot of bad things that should happen around.
So we're not understanding people can. We're just doing it out. Make it known. Do what you can.
All right, we got a lot of stuff to go on today before we start. Who's on the chat today? Okay. So Mo's on the chat.
Hi, Mo. Hey, Mo. There's also on the chat. We got Nick.
We're going to the chat. Hey, Nick. How you doing? All right.
Oh, yeah. We were there before. That's fine. All right.
So like I said, we got a lot of software. It's been a while since we do this. But if you guys are already unknown ready, let's talk Star Wars and Star Wars news. Star Wars news.
Star Wars news. So we'll start quick. Something I just dropped a few days ago and it's the possibility of a new Star Wars movie. I was reported by different trades.
Damon Lindeloff of the Washington HVOTV series has been developing a new Star Wars movie in which he serves as co-writer alongside Justin Britt Gibson and it will be directed supposedly by Charmino by Chinoy who directed two episodes of the MCU Miss Marvel series. And although the story is still on the wraps because the Star Wars is really important. It will take place after episode nine might won't be related to the Skywalker saga, but might have some of the cast of the sequel trilogy, which is exciting. And there was a secret writers from that came together during Star Wars celebration and they came up with the story and now here we are.
Oh, they will start with you. What do you make of this? Did you add a chance to see this story when it dropped? So I looked a little bit into it.
I'm excited. I'm a big fan of Damon Lindeloff. I'm a big fan of Lost also. So it's kind of weird like JJ did episode nine and then he's going to take over what happens next.
Yeah. Being the two minds behind Lost. So yeah, no. We knew they were cooking something.
And it was we had no idea we've been growing frustrated not knowing what it is. But I'm glad to know that they're putting like effort into it and having this secret writer room, having different people from different backgrounds, from different women of ethnicities come together and cook up what the next step in Star Wars movies is going to be. So I'm very excited. Yeah.
But you excited about this? Again, this is unconfirmed by Lucasfilm at this point, but a lot of the variety, all these places are reporting. Are you excited for this? Are you a little bit kind of high-sea time because some other Star Wars moving yourself kind of gone up and down?
Where are you at right now with this? I mean, I'm always cautiously optimistic about any film news, but I am excited. I mean, like, you know, again, Damon Lindelof is one of my favorite writers for it comes to television. I love Lost, you know, love the Watchmen.
So like, those were amazing shows that were groundbreaking. They were definitely the most toxic shows over the time when they were out. And I was in the Marine Corps during Lost. And I remember like, can't wait to get back from a deployment so I can catch up on the show, you know.
And then of course, watch, and then that was MustWatch TV. So, and then I enjoyed Ms. Marvel, you know, so it was an episode of that that I thought were terrible. You know, like those were all really good.
So I think this is really good, you know, crew working and, you know, it happens. It happens at idea of getting post episode nine movie would be great, especially if the rumors that they're trying to be back some of the cast would be great. Whether it be Ray or Finn or Poe, I would love to see Finn and Poe running around on the Finn Post-Shipper. So give me some gay Star Wars left.
It's funny because I guess I saw it this morning or yesterday. I can't remember that some other interview, someone asked us, I'd say, if it's right to come back to Star Wars and he said, yeah, there's been enough time. I've done all this stuff. So if they reach out and it's something that interests me, of course, it's like, oh, dude, I don't know.
The time is a little bit weird. It is. I love how just like two years ago he was like, if I need a new house and I was like, no, no, enough time has gone by to it going on. It's always the same again, they're actors.
This is their job. So I always get surprised when people kind of, this is the job. Of course they want to jump into any Star Wars. So there's a cool story that will be back.
So, but you mentioned you'll like to see Finn and Poe. I'm leaning more on the side too. Maybe go with other side characters. Maybe with Jonna or maybe Kelly Marie Tran.
What do you think? I would love for there to be Rose and Jenna out there. That'd be great. Obviously, like I said, my first love would be Finn and Poe, but Rose and Jenna would be awesome.
I mean, I doubt that will be Rey. I don't know why. I don't think it will be Rey. They said no Skywalker is on.
Since she's like Rey Skywalker, I'm not thinking. What I'll answer your question. I mean, I'm also surprised I was despairing because Linda Lofle, like we mentioned Watchmen lost and then sorry, I'm messing up the National Minnow, but you know it. At least for myself, known for Miss Marvel, which those two, Watchmen are very different.
So it's interesting that from this writer group, they decided to bring this director and bring her in early. So she has time to have her input and what the story's going to be. So it's very, trying to figure out where this story might go. It's difficult at the moment.
Finn and Poe make sense because a lot of people want to see more about Finn's story, trying to reach out who he was before the first order took him, tried to find other stone troopers. Other than I have defected against after the war, like we kind of learned between episode six and episode seven. There's two remnants of that. So maybe something like that, not focusing on this guy, Walker Saga makes sense to bring a big name like Oscar Isaac into it.
A lot of people also love the character Poe. And if you don't have those two, bring anybody to run. I mean, it makes sense for her character to be kind of paired with Finn and the continued that story that kind of took a backside in nine, which I like nine. I don't have anything against what happened except, yeah, we were missing Rose because we're watching.
She was supposed to be there. So let's continue that story. And if you want to bring John and have her and Finn kind of similar in terms of finding more about their past, then that makes sense. But I think just focusing on secondary characters won't be the way to branch out a new star was movie.
And I think they have some big names. Boy, yeah, it has been busy. He's been doing a lot of stuff. So his name is out there also.
So I know I think us Poe and Finn make sense as the lead, but I don't know. It's still you think these stakes already take over. It is movie that we know nothing apart from maybe a command in 2025. You think this comes before and it's gonna be that 2025 movie.
I think so. Like this looks like the furthest along thing they have going on movie wise. Every time they ask a guy, he's like, yeah, it's so working. Yeah, he's becoming Ryan Johnson.
Like, yeah, when I get the chance, I'll do it. It's still there. What happens? I have a chance to do it.
But yeah, interesting and excited that finally, again, not confirmed, but it's coming. Something's coming celebration in some way. So we'll learn more there hopefully. If they want to come out in celebration, he's like, I have Nio is like, yeah, it's a trailer.
All right. Anyone watching right now on the chat, let us know if you think this movie is going to happen. What do you think it might be or at least what? What would you like it to be?
Focus on which characters may go all their different way. Give us Hox back story and bring back Captain Fessma or something. Maybe pop the thing has re-returned or something. There were a lot of parts.
I just got on a ship and it's not. Maybe Snoke has, I don't know. Maybe they bring shadows on the set and make a movie out of it. Then I spend my money on it.
Let's post episode nine. It has to look. No, that was, I don't know. That was great.
I don't know. You got me that brain fog already. All right. So let's switch now.
Not Star Wars new. So apart from Endor, not funny, but we've been kind of enjoying all these Star Wars TV series. So sometimes we can forget that the movies are still kind of like May Star Wars. But now we have two series coming out at the same time.
The latest one was Tales of the Jedi. So this was six animated shorts focusing three on Ahsoka and three on a young Count Dooku. And we got them last week. Buck also with you.
And we can go through, let's talk first about the Ahsoka story and then we'll do the Dooku one. Another song come from us. We'll jump into it. But Buck for you, are you excited for Tellsoka?
I was very, very excited. I mean, you're telling me you're giving me more animated Star Wars and I'm getting more Ahsoka. I'm there for it. Ahsoka is my character.
I have the whole wall. I have a Soka stuff. So I was very excited. I was at celebration when they aired the first episode.
That episode was great. You know, Janina Gavonkar being Ahsoka's mom. That was great. Just a moving tonally episode.
Like they really dug into like the visual storytelling and just giving us great visuals. Great. Just like not a terrible amount of dialogue. Right.
And that first one. And so I was like very, very, very excited. So I stayed up all night. I'll see you guys watch all six episodes.
All right. So it's funny when this was announced on Celebration Accumention. I was at it with Roberto. We were watching it when he came on.
The first time I was still from it. We were all over the moon. I love all the design. I was excited for it.
And for some reason, Stan went on my interest and went downhill a little bit. As time, you mean like three months? Yes. In three months, I don't want this.
I don't know why. It's maybe when I kind of learned it's probably three focus on Ahsoka, three focus on Dooku, these shorts, maybe it came out and I don't know. Plus as we got closer and closer, like the last week, the first kind of review started going on. A lot of people were praising how great they were.
So I went with an open mind. Not a lot of big expectations to it. And I enjoyed them. It wasn't anything groundbreaking.
At least on my end, I prefer that Dooku one who will get that in a minute. But I understand why, especially for people that are friends of Ahsoka, which is the character that I don't know, I think it's a lot of people that have been in the forefront of a lot of Star Wars. And it's like you mentioned a lot of people favorite character. So it was cool seeing a little bit of her past and then all the contributions to it started.
And we jump into that in a second. But I love the animation style very similar to that a little bit. But yeah, like you mentioned at first episode is just so kind of visual. There's not a lot of storytelling going on.
It was a cute episode. I love seeing little Ahsoka there kind of taking over that big tiger. But how about you? Were you excited still for this?
And sure, sir, did you get a chance to watch it? I know you've been under the weather. No, so on Wednesday when I woke up at 4am because I wanted to watch both things, that was when I first started to feel that. So I sat on my couch and watched Andra and then watched Tales of the Jedi.
I will say, and it's not a dis unendred, but Tales of the Jedi was my favorite thing. Star Wars really that I saw on Wednesday. It kind of had that Star Wars flavor I was missing, you know, the Final Cutin Evil on a romantic level. And the Jedi and the lightsaber were so dark.
So I liked the Ahsoka episodes. I really like how they compliment the Duke episodes. But the Duke episodes I was like, oh my God. What's the controversy because I have not seen anything?
Oh, all right. So I haven't read the Ahsoka novel. I haven't read the Ahsoka novel, so I'll just talk about what I've seen on Twitter. I don't know if either of you have read it and then, but you can correct me and enlight us a little bit more what the issues were.
But the, I guess the last episode of the Ahsoka one is she sat down in this village and the Quizito comes in after one of the people there kind of razzar out. And then she saves all of them, she doesn't care. And then she goes back to bail, hey, I'm ready to join the fight again. That's kind of when she goes into fulcrum mode.
So apparently the Ahsoka novel is the same scene, but they switch two characters. And the Ahsoka novel were black and queer. If I'm mistaken, they changed it to two random, random about two white people, basically. So people are saying really, if you had a hand in the story of the novel, Star Wars, LGBTQ characters have been misrepresented or not represented that much.
And then when we're trying to get a chance to see them on screen, they're not where they're not where to be seen. There were name characters in the book. These are known people. Why?
And he and the interviewer he did, he said not addressing the controversy, but basically saying they say the same story from the novel to what we see on the screen. But they changed those characters without any reason. So people kind of said, eh, this makes no sense. But you Fred the book, you're not so kind of tell us if you're right and what are your thoughts on it?
So the fans are right to be really angry because we have seen a pattern with Dave for a while now, taking things and just kind of changing them. We do a little bit with Amanda Lorian with Kavanth, and then we saw a little bit in Bad Batch with Caleb Doom and the way it has mastered eyes. And now with this, which was the most egregious because again, yes, you had a queer character, a color who was erased from the canon, and a light skin, you know, presumably straight since that's the default quote unquote character who doesn't have a name and know real, there's a little bit of a friendliness between her and a soca, but you can erase all that from the quote unquote canon. And we all know that film and then television kind of there's a hierarchy in this always game.
So you're going to overdo a book, you're really just saying Oscar with this book has been overdone so many times like because it talked a little bit about the C. And most of those details were changed, the color of her light saber were still green in the novel. And then how she teams up with bail is very different now because of this episode and then of course with the stuff at the village it's like, where does where do they draw the line of what is still canon or he's still playing by George's old rules of a T or canon when they've told us at the beginning when they redid the canon and it was going to be one solid canon. And there's a little bit of a frustration from fans of like, why should we care about the novels?
Why should we care about the comics if you're just going to overdo them for the sake of television and film. And so there's been some frustration like why we're going to spend our money and spend our time even with things as wonderful as the high republic if these things are just going to come out the window. Yeah, and it's hard not hard for me because I understand where people are coming out. It'd be hypocritically of me if I didn't say that when I was watching rings of power and a lot of people were complaining that all this is breaking canon, this is not the way it is in this book or whatever.
And I just said, shut up. It's a great story. I don't care. Just a good story because this is taking the books and just adapting them for TV so just whatever enjoy the story.
But I see that difference here because it's taking characters and representation away. It's people are under representing just media in general but special installers. So I understand it's not been like, it's a good story just deal with it. But I understand that queer characters, dark skin characters are not something within Star Wars a lot and when we see them they're usually killed early or cannot serve a lot to a platform from some characters.
Especially LGBTQ characters, we only see them in the novels basically and high republic we see a lot of them. So I understand that okay finally we'll be able to see them represented on screen even if it's on a short and there'll be there for three minutes. We're just taking them out. I understand why a lot of people that felt seen what I've written just so kind of mind now feel like you said, what's the point?
Why am I spending all this money because I'm a big dukufans special to really in dukufans I lost and when I heard all of them I changed something I freaked out. And that's why I picked out the novel to double check what they changed. And this is a character that really changed one or two things that doesn't affect as much as they changed that happened here. So I understand why this happened and then having Filoni come out and say yeah it's basically the same story.
Oh man that's not the answer you want to hear. Did you ever read the eso canoble? I don't know if we've talked about it before. No, no.
So like I totally get it. I think it's completely valid because I think sometimes it can be like they feel only trying to be like the new church will guess. I changed things just for the sake of it but don't come on like pick your changes. And for example that I remember the whole like same recall the color debacle but I actually like found the reasoning behind that change to be like very powerful because it wasn't like displaying anakin's sense of control because even she goes like, why did you change my like savings?
So those kinds of changes you can kind of understand but this one's like why they would like it's digital character you can just like change it like why. So I don't know like cancel day I guess like do better. I mean I've been on a day Filoni now I'm not the biggest fan. His great he in terms of knowledge.
I was there's no one I think that comparison but some of his story choices and beginning to do you need a new and new stick or something. And I don't want people now to come and say, oh well you don't mind if they kind of switch races for other characters that used to be white and we see them on screen as black or just change gender. I don't care it's different. We've all seen white characters for 100 years and film.
So let's give other people a chance. It's not the same. Now we're taking a gender and whatever career characters and black actors change it back to white straight which is that's not the way we should be going as. So it's not the same.
I could already hear one of the arguments that he would make would be like well we have Trace and Rafa. We already have two black sisters that are similar descriptions. I'm like so we can't have more characters fit this similar description just better character designing. They're visually distinct.
So I'm all agrees with everything that we're saying. He's basically saying what you just said about black people of color and queer people have been underrepresented for forever. Yeah, just said it better than I did. I mean, you know, conversely with like and or where they're kind of been teasing out like finally feel like the representation there is okay this is for isn't like you're not just playing it easy.
You're not playing it safe. You know, we got the reason you know you love me line and so that's great. So we have actual representation and or and then to take it out in the tales of the Jedi and you're like what the hell you see other franchises are doing representation well and Star Wars is still playing it safe. It's not it's not Disney.
You can't just call it and say that it's not Disney anymore. This is this is the people at Lucasville making decisions to act. About representation. Bob shot a good call for lonely and was hate chase of characters.
No, he doesn't care about look traffic doesn't care. It's not for us. So that's fine. Yes, we can be more than one.
We don't need to race and wrap up with the only ones out there. And like you said the Star Wars competition people can start trick and I haven't seen this start like animated shows but apparently they're great and the representation there. It's a step above what I was just doing. Discovery the live action stuff.
Discovery and strange new worlds has great representation. So it's not just in their animation. It's a good live action and an animation. So you're like you're doing it wonderfully over there.
And yeah, I get that like Star Trek started like 11 years before Star Wars but Star Wars decades behind. Especially something like this that Ahsoka is one of the most beloved characters I'm always my favorite but for the younger generation that came up with the Clone Wars. Ahsoka is their looks guy walker from my generation, right? So you know a lot of eyes are gonna be on this series.
Like you said, yeah, we have it on Ando with Baron Cinta. But this is different eyes were gonna be on this. And like Otis also said, it's a different type of Star Wars series. I got to Bell Cinta.
So yeah, they missed the mark and hopefully it gets better going forward. But again, the animation was great. These stories were great for some of that didn't read the novel. It makes sense.
The way these stories went, they went back to join Fulcrum. My critique I was saying I wasn't gonna say because I was such a fan of Ahsoka. But I'm kind of over with Ahsoka being every important scene that happens in Star Wars. Like why was she now in Pan-Mesh Funeral?
Again, I go she wasn't there in the movie and I know it was not afterwards. She didn't exist on the movie. I know. I did that.
But it's like she doesn't need to be in every important moment in Star Wars. So that's where I started getting this fatigue on her. By the way, it was done was quick. It was just a quick moment for her to meet.
They also, okay, I'll give it a pass. So it was okay. I mean, I don't see any reason why she wouldn't show up to that just because of how many stories we've shown of them being close. I mean, you've got her body going on.
They've done Starship training together. Like they were just almost as close as Harin and Ohi want. So it made sense to me. It made sense to me.
It's not like they put her in the next wing in the Battle of Charming. Like Red Six. Just wait for season two. No.
Again, it's fine. It was great. What else before we jump to the Dooku kind of arc, what else are people saying in the chat? I know that we were talking about lightsaber colors and her focus show was no longer yellow green and she's green.
So another one of those random changes that why what is the point? Yeah. Basically Nick points out it's still a long way to go with LGBT and people of color and more of El Cento. Yeah.
We'll get to them. We'll get to them in a second. All right. So the other three episodes were Dooku.
And like you mentioned, how they, at least for myself also this was, it's what I was most interested in because if I see I can become more of a Dooku fan just after reading. Dooku just like lost. Finally reading. What are the other bookies that you have?
Bullying it to be. That's the type of the type of the type of the type of the story. Same with, I just heard her name. It doesn't matter.
So we got Dooku. I really enjoyed this story, especially the last episode. Even though I liked the first two, these story beats are pretty similar. He goes to a village.
The political person in power, the governor of the Senate, is taking advantage of the people. He doesn't like this and takes more interviews sometimes. So they were very similar. Even though the first one is there with Qui-Gon, then with Mays.
But then the last one is Yado. Thanks for playing. Also, I don't care. Yado.
Okay. Yes, thank you. Bye. There.
What do you mean you don't care, dude? What do you mean? I was not having any emotional attachment to any. I gave you an MEC, but come on.
I was in there since 99. Look, Yado was there in one movie. No speaking wrong, then was taken out. And I talked about this on space waffles when I was there a few weeks ago.
And this is my problem. Not for anyone. I don't have attachment to these gloepshiro's that everyone does. I don't care about background characters.
I have no emotion to anyone. So when, oh, Yado is coming, I said, when does Yado find out what do you mean? It's been up and like, no, I don't care. So thank you.
Oh, man. And they just speak normally, not like Yoda. Come on. We knew that was coming.
That was happening. I have a public. It was there. It's not really in the public, man.
What the hell? You think I remember Yado in the High Republic? How do you remember Yado in the High Republic? I saw it too.
I didn't. I saw it a few days ago. Oh, wow. Yado was there.
I think he was in the shadow. I think too. I hope his whole, our friend hope has been the one that had to remind me. I can't remember.
Yeah, she was there. Right. All the, what were your thoughts on that? Do go on and yeah, I love.
I love her. And Bryce, that is how I did a great job as Yado. And I want to know. Yeah, I was sorry.
That was good. No, but I love the two stories. They, the two characters that we need are more on because we know he's a very beefy character and we hadn't gotten like much on him. I know you love the, what's the book's name?
You mentioned it like a couple seconds ago. Did I lost? Yeah, I lost it. You see Kevin Scott's thread on it on how he's on it.
Yes. Because that's the reason I went back to read it as I got a double check to make sure this makes sense because not the same way that people complain about the change in the token novel. I'm very attached to that. I lost him.
I double check this and then halfway through it, I saw the thread that he did. And I said, okay, I'm good. It makes sense. Yeah.
And I love learning more about his relationship with Qui-Gon. Like he really loved him. Yeah. And how that just basically pushes them all the way to coming to the dark side.
Like, wow. Yeah. And I love that we got to see how Camino got erased. Like officially we see him there.
He's very, very, very silly. It worked out. Nothing happened. Nothing happened.
Hey, you guys are how you doing? Yeah, I do. I mean, Qui-Gon said they won't make here talking to Yalo later. But also proving that the rule of two is bullshit.
Yeah. Like, you know, we have, you know, Duke who at the same time is more than a boy. He's the, he's the worst, he's the best evil there will ever be, but he's the worst. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. You didn't have to go that far to kill him.
Oh, you will do the same thing. But yeah. But you enjoyed the Duke of Storyland. I love Duke of Stories.
I was wonderful to see, you know, master in apprentice stories. I like, you know, of course, they're going to kind of always procedural because, you know, they're being sent out to deal with the planetary conflict and those are very procedural. But I just, you know, seeing young Qui-Gon was great. I love getting more weight.
I love Mace. I know most people don't like Mace. They kind of hate on Mace, but I love Mace. I was like, okay, where did that happen?
That, that, like, he's like, you're devoting to the rules as both and Mairi and infuriating. I was like, yeah. Yeah. But like, and then of course, with Mace getting the council's seat instead of Duke who you're just like, okay, I just, you're just planting those seeds, setting it up.
I mean, it makes sense. Like, how come, I mean, like, how I didn't ever thought of that, like, you know, that kind of weird dichotomy of Duke who in Mace, I need to see more of their friendship. And I really want to see more of the stories with them, like, like, being able to go on missions together and kind of talking about the philosophy of the force and the politics of the republic. That would be really engaging for me just a book of just them talking.
I know that's boring for most people, but I would just eat that shit up. My dinner with Mace sitting down for like 150 pages is like, yeah. The one audio drama. We'll just listen to them in the start.
All the other other other other, yeah, I would too. But I love that story, even though I said that the plot of the first two episodes very similar, you see a different way Duke with it. One with Qui-Gon and just going full on dark, choking the senator and then Qui-Gon kind of coming. You okay, Master?
You can let him go. And Qui-Gon going to his sons, to the senator. So hey, go save your father. And then that little conversation they had, oh, you're a better person than I am.
It's very similar to then Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan in front of Menace. So it was great. And of course, the back and forth with Mace Windo was very especially when Mace gets the idea that Council sees that, oh, really? You just happen to get it?
That's funny. But yeah. Also understanding where Duke comes from. Like, right, that was kind of always kind of a question when we saw the circle movies.
Like, why did this former Jedi go to the dark side? And now, you know, we kind of get seats of it. He goes so dark in the Clone Wars. He goes so dark by then the prevention of the Sith.
So like, how is this person who trained Qui-Gon and Jin, trained by Yoda, go to the dark side? And then seeing like, oh, it's the corruption of the Republic. I'm seeing that own kind of corruption here in America. It just like, I completely understand why Duke goes to the dark side.
Like seeing politicians, you know, and celebrities take advantage of the people who have less, taking advantage of the poor and take everything for themselves. And the system does nothing. And it becomes frustrating because it isn't one politician or one celebrity that has done this. This is a story that we hear on the news constantly.
It's like every week we hear some new BS story from people being taken advantage of whether it be from Florida or from California. I don't care. It happens on all sides. And it is frustrating.
And you can, I don't think I would react any differently in the moment. These people were amazing. You see that the sunken in his cheeks, you know, very sharp bones, very, almost no energy, just kind of hunched over, just seeing how desperate they were to make any sort of change so that they could eat, just eat, survive. And then the Senator comes out with, you know, basically his cops, the security guys, and starts mowing them down.
It was just like, of course, I would have gone to the dark side too. Let's just like know. Yeah, I completely understood him. Yeah, Duke, for his ally, right?
He's there to help people. And when he sees somebody, he's supposed to be helping, it's the one that's the evil guy at that point. And he kind of changes. Of course, he goes a step too far.
Like you said, sometimes, when the system isn't working, you have to take matters into your hands. And I'll give for the yellow one. It was a lot more, it was sad and also, I don't know what the word is, seeing her getting crushed first by the kind of thing coming that was, oh, that's rough. But then she's surviving this and Duke, kind of just right there, just turning the lightsaber and mowing her down was, oh, that's rough.
So I do get at that point. He's kind of, okay, you're down. It's not coming back because it was still kind of, not dark, it was trying to change the way the republic was working, not go full on space. But at that point, it's like, you can see about the end of the back, just starting to smile, and they don't like, yes, it is complete.
Just in time, a small guy, it's my only one who comes up. Man, he plays play soon in games, cool lives. And Duke will make a deal like that. For the reason he does, it's super tragic because it seems like he wanted to make change in the galaxy and improve the lives of the people with lives.
And that's not what happens. Because then it makes it even more, go ahead, okay. No, he does the very thing he's mad about. He destroys worlds.
He kills a lot of Jedi. He becomes a monster. Yeah, and wipes out whole planets. No, no, no, yeah, in Congress, it did a lot of happens.
But it makes then a little bit more sense when we got to take a little clunk, so he's trying to turn Obi-Wan, not maybe to the dark side, or to see the leaders, or to see the lawyers, but still trying to play that political game. You guys are getting due by the guy in charge of the Senate. We gotta do something. We gotta do something.
We're like, hey, shut up. We'll never join all this stuff. You are still playing that. I think we can still do something good.
Something good from the inside. But all right, so we can finish our tells of the Jedi, so we can jump into Ken-Hoe. I mean, that other show. I'll talk to you.
Yeah, we'll go back to the program. I was looking for a comment. I can't find it. It doesn't matter.
Do you think we're getting a season two, Oti? And if we do, what type of stories or what about Jedi's, do you hope we'll get? If I don't, I think we'll get a season two sooner rather than later. I even think in less than a year.
I don't know what matters. I would love Leah something with Leah. I don't know what pairing, I've seen Leah and Ben Solo, yeah, sure. Definitely one Leah.
Yeah, Leah one makes sense. We haven't seen that. We also had a little clip in Rise of Skywalker. So it makes sense.
What about you, about anything that you would want to see? I would love Terris Newway. We saw in this series, I think it's really fun. My theory still is that Terris Newway is the one that says Brody.
It's how he ends up getting caught in the fortress inquisitorious. I have to say that Groger was there, but that's why I think that's why we're seeing. And then I think for like a dark side story, going to some sort of like Night Sister stuff, whether it be Mother Talzin or I know it's not Jedi, I know it's not Jedi, but yeah, but fortragers. Maybe there is a Night Sister Jedi and a way back.
Because it didn't happen to me, Republic or Republic or Republic time. Any time I think it'd be great. Just kind of Baris Offi, I see Mo, Baris Offi would be great too. But I think that's why I saw V and Ventress would be a cool pairing.
Because Ventress went to the Academy for a while. We can see Ventress because again, Duke of Jedi Lost, we see a lot of her talking to her dead master and how she wasn't taken or didn't go to all the Jedi trials, all the other Jedi's and all the other people. I'll take that. I'll take that.
I'll take Ventress also. So there's a lot of angry. I think we'll get another season. I wish it's characters like those that we haven't seen a lot of or parts of the story.
We haven't seen like, oh, let's do a Kenobi one from his time from here to here. We also want to be the one that we're missing some stories. Some background. That's what I hope we don't get.
Please don't do an anecdote. Yeah, and I agree what Dale is saying. Because we are talking so far a little bit. They say sometimes you have to touch the dark to see the light.
I thought of you Jedi touching the darkness. They like to touch the dark to see the dark. Any last thoughts on Toss of the Jedi? We jump to Andor?
Right. Right concept. Yeah. There's a 10 of the American version of Star Wars Visions.
It's just these shorts, but these are canon. All right. So let's do it. And the Andor files.
I've been in these fights since I was six years old. Was he? Yes. And I kept it going last week.
I said it for you. I said it. We got a key principle here. All right.
So, oh, man. I have some notes here. How was he going to start this show? I forgot to talk already.
Maybe at the end. So episode eight, now, Keena five is here. We episode seven. They say it was going to be the standalone episode.
I think it's still works with this one. But I guess these next three are going to be this arc. You weren't here to talk about announcement. Did you enjoy that episode and then just some thoughts on Narkina five episode eight?
Yeah. I like that. I like episode seven and Narkina five. It was a hard watch, man.
Like it was a hard episode to get through. Like it's not a lot of joy going on. But I love that. I think the main theme about it is just like connections and how the empire on the dark side thrives and just cutting them at any way they can.
And that present, my God, like just like a giant sister of connection. Is it bad to say that I like those shoes when they came out the first time? Oh, those shoes are really nice. Yeah.
We're early nineties. I think I have some back to the future. But I like the colors. Bach, we haven't talked about under you.
You've been enjoying the series and just all of thoughts on this latest episode. I have loved the series so far. Dad, getting a Mexican lead for a show is amazing. My dad's Mexican.
And so like, and there's only things that Andor does that reminds me my dad, you know, for good or bad. And then getting a course for the same, again, getting actual actual good and not like hide it away representation. They still kind of played a little safe, right? But it's still, like you can't deny it at this point.
Like it's the position. So like for those two reasons alone, I'm like, there's a good show. But then you have the writing in the story that they're telling and it's fantastic. Yeah.
And it was great to see this episode and compare it to Tesla DJ line in terms of why people connect to Star Wars. I was like, all they said, he preferred Tesla DJ like to this episode because the sound is so he like that. My show says some people like the Pew Pew, other like the more detailed story, the more intimate and personal stories. I like both.
That's why I love the Duke one because I love the Jedi, the Sith and all the dogs on the outside. And the way that first connects is my favorite thing is Star Wars. But I still enjoy Andor because he's like, it's a great written show, great action, acting and the visuals are just great. But I enjoy this.
And like you said, it's weird to say that I enjoy it because it was a hard watch. Since the episode starts and they will end up just on his way to prison. They just worked out like cattle on a scale. What's your name?
What are you from? Are you going here? No questions asked. And it reminded me, he doesn't know what's not enough.
I've seen shows and documentaries of people in prison that get moved on different prisons without knowing, knowing, knowing where they're going. And when visitors go, they can't know where their family members are. It might be 100 miles away, so they can go to visit and all this. So just make it harder to keep that spirit alive and call those connections like all these said.
So we try to keep it light sometimes on this show. But like last week when you're at the politics in Star Wars and real life, it's there. I mean, away from it. I think what's just like the most explicit will get to the dinner party because there's just a couple lines that I was like, oh my God.
But yeah. Yeah. And then when they get to the prison and we are those three guards, check in. You got to give it to the empire.
This point, I understand why people might not want to rise up against them because we learned in the previous one all the sentencing is going up. Here we saw that people that were in prison, there is sentence got doubled or whatever. But as soon as they get them, they start getting yelled at. And then when they take your shoe stuff, I don't like green bird food anywhere.
That's not my house. So this is already uncomfortable. But man, the way they got shot. That was hard.
It was hard. But they get to the prison and we got Snoke. He's not loyal. And the circus is there finally in Star Wars with no makeup.
