S5E67 - Mercy (2014)

from The Latecomers

Episode Notes This week we persevere through kitty co-hosting and losing almost all of one of a double record to bring you a heaping helping of adaptations of Stephen King’s “Gramma.” After an aperitif of Lovecraftian history, first up we discuss Barrett Oliver, who is abused by his parent and grandparent all in the span of 20 minutes in the 1986 episode of Twilight Zone. Then, we expand both theme and content in 2014’s Mercy staring none other than the Walking Dead’s Chandler Riggs, doing the best acting we’ve seen from him. We then digress to a praise of small moments, especially by Patrick Wilson before landing back on Lovecraft with out recommendations. It’s a good ride, so come along and we promise we’ll get you home safe. Recommendations: Lovecraft Country (HBO Max) Next up: Big Driver (2014) – Available on Amazon Email us at [email protected] Twitter: @latecomerspod Find Amity @ www.amityarmstrong.com and @AmityArmstrong on Twitter Our Facebook group is here for those who consent: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1754020081574479/ Find out more at https://the-latecomers.pinecast.co This podcast is powered by Pinecast.
