S6 Ep 17 Leslie Austin

Leslie Austin is a singer and songwriter whose original music has carried her from Los Angeles to touring stages in southern Italy. In this episode of the Dallas Famous Podcast, she opens up about growing up as the constant new kid, the years she spent believing her music belonged only inside church walls, and the moment she realized she was called to spread God's message outside the church rather than within it. She talks through opening for a headliner in front of nine thousand people who came to see anyone but her, her run through the Dallas Busker program, and what pulled her toward original music after years of singing in cover bands and worship teams. The episode closes with a live performance recorded in studio of her original song "You and Me."Leslie Austin joins hosts for a conversation on faith, identity, and building a music career on her own terms, touching on her time in Los Angeles, her original songwriting process, and her ongoing touring work in Italy.Subscribe to the Dallas Famous Podcast for new episodes featuring musicians, artists, and creatives shaping the Dallas and DFW music scene.Leslie AustinSalim Nourallah - "Unstoppable" Theme Song (All Rights Reserved to Salim Nourallah)Electrik Ants - "Place To Be" Outro Theme (All Rights Reserved to Electrik Ants)Andrew Sherman - Your HostThe Dallas Famous Podcast is supported by the Mullen & Mullen Music Project.
