Oh, and welcome to our special Star Wars celebration day one recap show. I am your host I think I'll be talking around and I'm joined by cause Oti one can only Oti I don't know where even to begin, but it is Star Wars celebration day one. Are you alive? Is this real life?

What's going on? I'm so glad to set we're doing the episode at night and not right after the event because I was all over the place. I was listening to the podcast recap and I was just like just going off I've never done cocaine, but I'm not sure that sounds feels like oh man cocaine bear out there in Puerto Rico I can't see. Dude we and we're gonna go into it deep But wow what a morning and I'm like you said I'm glad a little bit right It's not here in the States in Puerto Rico someplace close is all the way out there in London I'm glad that I we got all this right at eight in the morning We're all in and then this high went all the way to right now.

This is unprecedented I think the stream ended at one and I was or maybe like two or three. I was like Now what? I was like I post a few minutes I was like a little bit cataclysm I got a couple days ago. I'm really into it really loving it.

So if you guys are ready I'm ready less dog star wars and today's all about star wars news Right and if it's star wars news, there's only one type of news and it's star wars celebration 2023 coming all the way from europe this year Um People were kind of weird that out because they weren't going to be streaming the big panel that big look at the film showcase Just the same thing that he last year they didn't string that which is fine because A lot of people were out there live to within so we kept getting all the news as they were coming Um for myself. I woke up early because I had to take my kids to school So as I'm waiting for them, I just going to throw through twitter and thanks to everyone out there That was just like to animate life a lot easier and a lot less stressful also so emotional that I did not Contain myself and then having to work the rest of the day at least I was working from home But but 10 in the morning I say haven't done any work. I did some just in case some work folks are watching I want to listen here from you guys. How did you Watch our celebration if you were isco so just decided to power through the night And just get the news it was coming just woke up and started reading everything on twitter and then all the the news articles as they kept coming A lot of things to talk about I was talking to out before we started it was a lot more We got a lot more than what we expected.

Uh, we talked about weeks ago. We're going to get star wars movies announced Um, it's gonna be one movie. It's gonna be three is someone going to show up and headline a movie Um tv shows are they still gonna keep announcing those? Is it gonna be more movie centric?

We're gonna get trailers. Is it gonna get string those potato cameras that we keep joking about what's gonna be there? I did see a few but not too much someone else just joined the chat. How you doing Lauren?

Thanks for being here. Lauren again I want to thank you. It's been a year since Lawrence was here during us life on Star Wars celebration when it was doing I don't know right last year. It was a great time.

So Lawrence has for joining us today But what are they to me? I don't know for you guys but and maybe it's just the Because it's the new thing that we just happened today. This might be my favorite celebration so far is the first day Because of so much that was announced right now. I mean our in cloud nine that if they say, you know what?

We're we're canceling the rest of celebration. We don't need it. I'm fine. We got so many news today and a lot That was announced was for everyone right?

Most of us love almost everything about Star Wars We're gonna enjoy a lot of the shows a lot of the movies that were announced But if you don't want to follow the sequel trilogy, we got this old old old old report back in that dawn at the july 25 000 years ago We have the mando verse and the filoniverse. We're still gonna be going through that and bringing that to conclusion Then we have the pose um sequel trilogy plus the acolyte and and there's some too So there's there were so much things and I'll announce today that I can't wait to start talking about it I know Was deep a t a little bit a little bit more time to get here, but um, yeah So what what a year is being today Alan your right is sometimes if you're a fan of the show you've been following us for a while When ando was coming up on I think mostly kenobie. I was complaining here about Maybe look at some of these having some issues marketing star wars whether they waste so much we don't get trailers all this and that but I can't complain because today like roberti saying look as you did not mess around this year They dropped a lot of bombs and that was kind of what we were hoping and I was expecting but sometimes that leads to then just being disappointed But we were hoping that we just got dealt with new especially star wars movie news It's been now basically what four years since the last star was moving all that supposedly supposed to uh movies being Push to the back burner down on productions writers directors attached then they get fired or whatever although nothing was actually announced This was a big year for them and at least for myself. They stuck the landing and I have complete Uh, I'm very sure that everything that got announced today will be Will happen but one thing I was talking with all the before we started was I'm sure all of you guys have seen on twitter because we're like oh man We were not a celebration.

We really wanted to be there this year or maybe when it comes to a place a little bit closer We can maybe jump in but dude all there is is back just like a certain Character is back for some new brand new movie soon all this back. I'm literally sitting in my couch the whole day and no one calls me I sit down here Alright, um, oh, if I just real quick we just I was gonna For you crazy, by the way, no, don't worry. I've kept up with it. Love me here.

They all I'm in For this star wars celebration is for myself kind of raised the bar compared to some other star wars celebration. So at least that first day Did you feel the same or we just rose color glasses? Cause we just saw it Come on. Uh, we have to wait and see I I I think last Jedi stole my favorite celebration That was like the first one I took the week out the friday off to watch it Then I love that right?

So skywalk, you know, it was different because we knew we were getting a trailer for the next episode movie So the hype was immeasurable, but this one Started out. I'd say better than last year. Yeah, I'll give it to you. Especially the last europe one which was a rock one What I heard from and I wasn't really at that point But it was a lot of people were saying if you were there it was a lot of fun But not a lot of things were announced yet.

We got a little I think the trailer about something for rock one which didn't even end up in the movie So going back to europe, they just knocked it out the park I think the biggest announcement that year was thrawn coming back. Okay. He came back London London and thrawn have this thing Um, so what are you talking about before we started? It was pet it was shoulder to shoulder if you're close to fro we don't like being in close contact with people especially with the pandemic and everything I don't know it's I didn't didn't miss not being there when I saw those pictures No, I saw people like Laura Kelly commenting like yeah, this is a bit wild.

Uh, so Well, I don't like um, I don't know how you say that I'm with people this Uh, that's why I speak people. Um, The assistant says yeah, here. It's this huge Marty got like party because I don't like a lot of people together. I'm sorry, but Whatever, I hope you guys are safe and having fun and no one gets sick Alright, okay.

Let's just jump right into it. We've been talking here every time we mentioned celebration We say are they going to announce a movie. Is it gonna be one movie? It's gonna be three.

I said one and I didn't want to be a legend But you also said you thought that they were going to announce three it makes sense that maybe they're announced three I thought it would be three like in a trilogy. Yeah, I mean two three different movies All right. Yes. The last night I was thinking that it's probably gonna be three and it's gonna be a three-loggy that new trilogy They're going to announce it, but no it was three different ones.

Let's just start with the first one I don't have no fancy graphic or anything No, there's a big elephant in the room that we have to talk about because I've seen the grumpy and as a negativity online Okay, let's do it. Why guarantees that any of these movies are getting made? Why are we hyped if they're gonna cancel it in two weeks? I don't I want to jump across the screen.

I'm punch everyone. I have an answer though. Let's hear your answer Then I'll do mine. So let's start with the biggest one none of the movies that have been cancelled announced in a celebration I think that's number one and with most of the Star Wars movie with one exception.

They've all been this big thing It's the many often-wise movies. Can you tell me anything about what they were doing? I don't think the Ryan Johnson trilogy still happening apparently We don't know what that was. Tyga's movie.

What was that movie about? We don't know Rogue Squadron we kind of knew what that movie was but when was it happening? Who are we fighting? Who are the characters?

we have vague ideas and If you think about that movie the Rogue Squadron one that was a one that was announced in an official event Yeah, but that got tangled up with the whole wb thing with wb She's doing Wonder Woman 3 then she'll come back and do this Oh, that's not happening and I kind of think that movie got pushed because of Wonder Woman Lucas film started thinking Okay, what do we do now and when patty jenkins got freed up? It's like we're already doing this thing So maybe later you can come in and do it So and also we have concrete information on all of these and reasons to think like this is happening the ray one These are it Lee like she has I think she has good stock in this film. Uh, the day for the only one come on That they're not gonna cancel that movie and uh man gold has just done in the five So unless that movie fluffs dramatically, I don't see them being like, no, sorry So that's why I'm feeling hopeful and optimistic about these three movies Dude, I am 100% certain that these movies are going to happen unless something catastrophic happens Um, everything you said is correct and I'll add and we're gonna talk about some of those points later on some news items And we've been talking here for weeks and months They said that when they announced a movie is gonna be something that needs to have at least this five-year plan In an interview we're gonna talk about later that catty candidate with idea and she talks about how long all these three movies have been in production The first one no, I don't know the mando movie They said they've been talking to jenkins mango since he took over indiana johnson. I don't know how many years ago They kept coming with ideas.

He had the ideas and catecans said yes And we knew he was gonna do both of it. He's part of the family Uh, they feel only you said it mando verse how many times tv shows people will say oh we gotta end up in a movie Oh, we know the mando versus coming together. She said in that interview This has been a six year like a six-year process. It's happening and then let's jump to the first one because it's a biggest one Ray skywalker is back.

We called it here. We said it you asked me last time will Ray show up and I said Yes, she'll show up and she'll lead the next movie there. She is and you said it you to read out We talked about it was no dinner that she went from London to it to San Francisco to grab lunch with catty Can you just consume it last year You liar Where am I? I don't have my nose but this movie has been in production for a few years She said in the other interview so all these movies has been in production for years and years This is not oh, what are we gonna do?

Oh, we lost the writer. What are we gonna do? Chill out nothing's gonna happen. There's something catastrophic happens, which no good doesn't this movies are the next I was we're gonna be seen and I'll say right now this this point today at 7 17 in the afternoon I don't care about the ticotiri movie.

I don't care about the fragging movie when I talk about it I don't care Ryan Johnson. Yes, when you guys I don't care this three movies is all I care about It's gonna be like the next seven years. I mean, I agree. I completely agree I I might be getting ahead of myself because we're gonna talk about that interview but it seems like they're building eras not trilogies and It's interesting, you know them saying like we've been spending years in development and it tracks with what they've said in interviews Every time Kathleen Kennedy is asked oh, we have this big room of writers figuring out what the 10th of 15 years of storytelling is and here it is They have a plan people To the winds ever since Kevin Feige stood up and presented the marbles late when it's not worth getting that we got it It's here.

This is it. It's not 10 movies like a marble. That's fine. I'm perfectly Yeah, so I said I don't want like this.

I don't want us late for in 2027. We're getting episode 15 I don't care. These are the next three movies director side test. We have like she says also mango Is a writer like director is gonna write that movie Filoni and Faro gonna do the other one and we already have even though it wasn't mentioned They didn't say but if she's meant to direct the conclusion to him and always it's gonna be Faro Filoni and maybe someone else but Like if they got a better like screenwriter for that one like maybe have them write the story But I don't know how the Mandalorian dialogue and scripts will manifest on screen When you see Dean Jaren for our board and the mandala On you don't give a crap if he says this a bench.

You're just gonna be screaming and people gonna be breaking their best cars beers Volcatan I am the engineering Tomorrow tomorrow be a mandala and show I love that episode. It was it was very fun I understand why some people I say what the story is just going nowhere. I had a lot of fun All right, so 15 years We think they really showed up. We thought they were gonna hear the screams all the way from london How so were you actually surprised that she showed up at the end because it was almost the last thing we heard from that When I was a relation.

I mean look at the film panel when they announced the three movies and It was confirmed the term main was gonna direct the movie post-rise of skywalker. I was not surprised because I was just like waiting for it like Come on. Come on. Come on.

Come on. They say you live like a couple of hours from here darling. Yeah I was scared to be there because she's doing photos and everything so yeah, I was a bit scared because We got in so much before then there's oh, maybe they're not gonna announce any movies and since I had to take a break from watching the Like not a stream watching around tweet because I had to drive my keys to school Like oh, maybe that's it, but we don't get the movies and then do the enemy and then just do it movies movies movies Like I was listening to people who were there they were saying like we the panel ran over the title was supposed to so They were like oh no movies and even Molly even tweeted out no movie It was I saw that one and I had people there had the same opinion that I had when they brought out the All the aliens to show you all the production and everything. I was like, this is it This is not the ending they think it is like You're like aliens, but not this much All right, so 15 years after the rise of skywalker we have they saw they see lately back as Ray trying to rebuild the j-light order In what they're calling this now the new j-light order era Like you mentioned some Sharmino by a generation directing no mention of a writer no mention of demo in the love no mention of Stephen I was was surprising but at this point, I don't care.

Do you think we're getting fin and po? Yeah, I'll answer your question, but I have a question for you that I'm gonna ask you twice more during this episode Fin and po I'll say yes, I don't think it's um How do you say Kasparidas? Coincidence I don't think it's a coincidence Oscar Isaac went from I'll only return a fin and you have to if the script is right and Kathy's there and the crew comes Yeah, sure I'll do it and I think the hard one here is Finn with John boy. I know he didn't Have the best experience of doing the sequel trilogy He was upset over the role of Finn and his portrayal and what was done with that character and not only him but Johnna and Rose and I'm gonna get a little bit corporate cynical here, but you know bringing in a Minority woman to direct this makes me think that maybe she could be the one to make a cool Finn story Okay, and maybe that's a driving force to him for him to be like, yeah, okay, sure I want them all rose everyone I'm gonna highlight I coming from Mario.

Great. The first woman directly star wars film It's about a man. Amen. Hey, man before you ask me your question I'm gonna say this because in a separate again the idea interview Kathy can I mention because they asked us this just three standalone movies and so you say like yes and no Those standalone they're separate and we'll see where it goes.

We'll see what the demand is so my heart. I don't hate this approach By the way, I love it, but I don't hate it. I love it. Okay.

I I hope that this ray movie that just a regular movie now We do get Finn and po as just co-leads or just supporting characters But then we get a Finn movie around the same time period within doing his thing and then a pro movie within doing his thing Which they're separate but still kind of together a little bit You're mad in the crawl starts, but they're gonna have calls by the way. Kathy you better Be close to better for crawl starts And pose back to spice trading Oh my god, what's your question my question? I actually have two questions for this movie, but there's a recurring question here. Okay, Alberto Luke Skywalker will he be in this movie as a force ghost I'm gonna go back.

Did you watch that idea interview with Kathy? No, no, okay So I can let me know video try to find it later great great great almost as good as having her on the celebration stage Um, she was mentioned she was asked about Luke Skywalker what how much he would be in the movie Kathy Kennedy deflected a little bit, but basically said Uh, we don't know how many force goes or force visions we're gonna have compared to a sequel to the But the essence of what Luke Skywalker taught ray are gonna be very present in the movie. That's such a big answer Yes, so nothing bird I'm gonna at this point. I want to say no.

I don't think we get a Okay, that's what we get. Oh, we want kennel we want but I don't think yeah, come on Ben Solo force ghost. I don't know if I force goes but I'm 51% saying that there's Ben's always gonna be there in some capacity. Are there force goes?

Define a way to bring him back. I'll shoot you that Well No bringing him back nonsense. Okay, shoot at me. We're hauling give you a big waffle crew But I think I'll believe that both Luke and Ben Solo will be there That's for sure and that's fine I mean Ben Solo makes sense That even if not a force or the diet just the diet has a different connection that we've never had in star What we for that they can find a way to bring it to have ray have conversations with Ben Solo as a force goes or Something different, but I think the events that are outside the Raylo fandom is so powerful right now and a lot of the writers And not just yeah, but they know that there's a strong call for that And everyone knows that Ben Solo is a great character and a lot of people didn't want to die Even if they didn't believe in Raylo wanted them together I think that there has to be Ben Solo needs to be there in some capacity to really bring back a lot of the people that fail Because of the end interest of Skywalker.

So I'm gonna say 51% that Ben Solo is there somehow Hey, we're gonna ask me for every movie is Ben Solo coming back. That's very coming Any growth right so the people from the resistance broadcast saying maybe growth at this point He's like 95 years old Yoda started training july at 100 They have to go see the ruler of mandala I'm gonna ask you a question which I've been thinking about for a while Do you consider grogu at july because a lot of people keep saying oh, he's gonna be the true mandala or a july mandala and this and that All right, so that's why he doesn't make sense at this point for grogu to be part of rebuilding the july order So are you excited about this kind of rate trying to find out what to do now with the july It's been 15 years on gladiade that they said also the war is done We don't need to worry about remnants coming back. It's just about this She can do her own thing and come back 15 years later But I I was listening to force center and then we're talking about what Charmaine mentioned And she she said something like she's rebuilding the order and there are forces out there that do not want her to do that And I'm very interested by that like who are those people who don't want july to be out there The open hand is it the ripple are they like no more july please You've caused enough problems. Yeah, a lot of the things and also then with the echo like talk about Who's using the force on this balance of power?

Why did july so he reminded me a little bit of part of the open hand But we'll see okay. Oh, yes, we move on to the next movie. What's it chat? No, no, thanks.

John way. I will 100 be there I finally watched the woman king and he's great in that one. I have not watched him away, but please a phenomenal actor I'm all for force goes by now. I'm all for bringing him through the World between worlds because I don't think that's how that works.

I like it's actually a rom-com I mean, it's there but All right, um no date for this we talk and we think this might be 2025 will be 10 years after the force awakens It does make sense still gives it two years if they start now to start filming and then I hold you for post production So I but I'm kind of happy they didn't announce dates because no, no, yeah That was probably have internal dates for when they want the delivered but gives them more time I think to work on the movie and avoid mistakes from the past All right, so let's go to the second movie which I want to say I got a little bit spoiled about the announcement that they before last night Yeah Snide went on and said if you don't is there reckon a movie and I said it has to be that conclusion to in other words But all they got finally announced that they feel only Will be bringing together all the mandoverse series into an epic movie finale and this is the mandalorian bookable See both again in life on the big screen. That's awesome And I'm guessing skeleton crew also because it's in the same time period. You might also come back having this cop that in live action going nuts Um, basically the imperial remnants versus the new republic Not really a big surprise.

We've been said before that they were built into a big conclusion But it's gonna be in the big screen. Are you excited for this? You said you want better screenwriters? I think I think we have to pick that here.

Yeah, I mean That's a weird story Listen, even though I asked for better screenwriters, I'm very excited for this. I'm very I think the esoka trailer is a glimpse because the Esoka trailer if they told me like the If I heard the news of phalania and they show me the esoka trailer, I would think it was a movie trailer Amazing So I think that trailer gives us a glimpse of what's coming and I think that trailer, I know we'll get to that but it's a sign of things to come Sure So I'm very excited for this movie I put this book up there on purpose the year to the empire because kind of thing I wouldn't even bet money that that's the name of the movie Do you think salopi wa kamara after the esoka trailer and they're Word by word she said air to the empire Are they basically re-canonizing the story with of course a little changes from the new canon Do you think they'll just re-canonizing that story for kind of the conclusion of this mando verse and also I haven't read it So I'll be surprising I have not and I was thinking that there's a gap between phase two and phase three of hyper politics I'll try to slot it in there because I want to read it before it's okay, but going back I think they'll do like a version of it like the elements that worked and Worked by hope they use on vong aren't coming because I hate them, but um We'll see uh I'm right though. Can I ask you a question? You're the co-host It's look Skywalker showing It's apparently you know the second wave of the war the empire is back Um, we're seeing lightsabers from red colors out there I'm trying to and it's an irrepolic fighting like it's not this small thing in the in the outer rim is looks guy walker is Han Solo is I'm gonna say no to those last two.

Okay. I was gonna say no to look skywalk and then I was trying to okay Where does this fit with timelines and then traffic was there in book of all of it? I think yes, I think they put so much in this deep-faked technology Especially with loose guy walking now in two big series I think he might show up and it might just be kind of the that pushes it tight or Throw that in republic wing like out of nowhere. I mean I mean the leg and the loose guy walking over here, right?

Okay, maybe this is part of it It would be for me. It would be very weird to have this big galactic event Which this is shaping up to me and looks guy Walker being like Do we get a baby Ben Solo? See around at this point Is the birth of Ben Solo? Training I mean she should be right because Ben Solo is about to be born that's when she stops training But I don't unless they do the same thing they did with rasos guy Walker I don't and again, it's all to be the lord and her family.

I don't really want to see a deep fake Very feature. I'll agree with you. I don't think Han and Leia are showing up I don't think Lucas film has the confidence in Elden Ehrenre I don't think they have that confidence and I really don't want to know the city I lay out what they didn't write this guy Walker didn't really work for me. And even though I praise So, but it didn't work for me.

So I'm finding no Leia. Oh, she's out there passing some laws But they could bring which I don't want but we see now D.H. Harrison Ford in the Indiana Jones trailer They could bring him back a lot of people were waiting for that Han Solo and loose guy worker reunion They could do it possibly here. He doesn't fit with this story at the moment But and I really don't want him but why would Han come in and not lay like Layers We're so pretty about both me.

That's okay. What was this all around? And I love that they went with Genevieve O'Reilly and didn't go back to the anyway Um, I got nothing else for the Filoni movie after this I'm really excited. I'm very I'm really excited.

Do you think this means and we don't know when this is coming out? Like lore and put out there. Maybe this is the next movie. I concerned 2025 very possibly Are we coming to the end of the Mandalorian?

Maybe season four is the last season of the Mandalorian and then bookable I just want season as okay. Just one season skeleton cruise one season and then we just jump into this movie to finish it off I do think we're getting six or five. I'm gonna say no. I don't think so I don't think this is the 2025 movie because then if the 2025 movie is happening and I don't think so um They would already have something like casting and We don't have anything on it as far as we know maybe we're already Maybe in a month they'll be like they've got only one is what we coming out of 2024 and this is a crew and this is a cast and here you go Um Still I mean in terms of Being availability we look up at the past how even if he just does the voice how busy he is and he's probably filming last of us right now It's gonna be hard to get all these people together for one maybe But very excited.

I mean that again. It's a movie they're getting paid for so don't make the time for Maybe again with the volume and everything then maybe I should in everything at all I'm glad that you mentioned that man. I really hope we lay off on the volume for For the new movies. I know Yeah, I know it's the new technology and we like it but you know star wars is so big in the theaters and The volume makes it seem a little bit small and I hope they throw a bunch of money behind this movies because I've mentioned it the man already pointed has notably gone up It still feels like a tv show.

I want this to feel like a movie I was like if they announced this like this is coming very soon Then it will be volume and then we'll save those issues happen but if it's late 2025 or 2026 Then hopefully it's more location shooting though use the volume of course or But we'll see all right before we jump to the third movie announcement. We're talking about it at that point If they do make it to the fire, they gotta have the I hope they don't I'll say I'll say for most coming about Timothy son I'm not the biggest fan of his style of writing but his whole concept is very interesting So when he comes out with that story treatment of a story idea, just don't write it. I Again, I have to apologize for my company I hope he's involved because I I agree I like how he portrays son. I like it better how he portrays son rather than how fellow he does because okay with fellow He's just a villain and what's on he has a little bit more layers to him She's funny because someone posted on twitter while back.
