S6 EP24: Review: Path of Vengeance

The bell is built on hope. And welcome to another episode of Radio Rebel on my Star Wars podcast. We are back, we didn't forget about this, and we also turned around the host, and I'm here with my friend, so we're so co-host, all the rep in his firehouse shirts, probably, for romantic learning. I was gonna tell you, like, oh, I bet you can guess the number of people in the shirt. And we're gonna be like, oh, yes, 21, 22 or 23, yes, I... and once when I was traveling to Lauderdale, some guy came to me and is like, oh, oh, I'm just f... No, I'm just part of it.

Yes, we represent. I'm gonna talk to you right there, one of the best out there all time. I just watch the Rican player, like, all time players. Gone to the zone.

I'm pretty sure you can even govern orico. Oh, man, I won't doubt it. Bounty with spin two weeks feels like more. How you doing?

I've been doing this past two weeks. You know you had a wedding to go to a Banffville, once you see so you're getting mad at everything you down there? Yeah, my sister got married last Saturday, so that was a lot of fun. I didn't have as much fun as I wanted because I was on big brothers, slash, girls, men, duties.

And at one point, they gave me the responsibilities of the bouquet. It's not a call of the bouquet. Yeah. No, the flowers.

And I was like, why are they giving this to me? I'm like, clumsy. I don't care. Like, what the hell?

So that day, when the wedding ended, I was like, then I was like, oh, you've got to drink more. I'm like, I'm just so tired. I'm like, I'll sleep. Like, continue drinking.

Yeah. Just having the bouquet of our experience on you. So here you get mad. No.

When they gave it to me, I call my mom. I was like, what do I do with this? You're one of my self-doubt, that responsibility. No, dude.

And at one point, my sister even got a rash. So I had to go look for my girlfriend. I was like, because she's a doctor. I'm like, come over here.

She needs you. Then get a friend of hers with the people's doctor to bring her over. It was a crazy day. But it was fun.

It all ended up in great. All right. It's good to hear. I find that I finished inquisitor, right?

So the red blade two weeks ago, I was reading it. I want to start to really again know spoilers or know anything. I can't say anything till July 5th. I believe it's when that embargo comes out.

My review is done. I can see right there the tab is open up my review. And then it comes out mid July, mid July, mid July, I think you like it when it comes out. So we'll talk about that.

Yeah. All right. Before we get into Star Wars, I want to ask you, are you going to watch Indiana Jones? So we talked about here.

I know some how I try to go to movies, but I can make all of them. I have three this summer, which are Indiana Jones, Openheimer and it's not going to be the next one. I'm the only one that doesn't care. I like my, it's funny because my girlfriend texted me.

I'm going to be in Florida. And she's like, Hey, can we watch Oppenheimer when you're here? Yeah. And I'm like only if we do the part behind her thing.

And she's like, really? I'm like, Yes, I want to desperately see why. I don't know. I guess I don't get it.

I was at some point, I like people just saying it because they want to say to we couldn't. But everyone wants to. I was like the kind of person like when they announced this, I was like, this is bullcrap. And when now seeing the trailers and the working, I'm like, I'm on board of this.

But you were working for Will Ferrell, who has the same birthday as I do. And he's one of my favorites. I watch it for him, but I'm not going. I'll watch it on a date.

It's on whatever stream inside and mission impossible. That's the only one I go see. Oh, dying to see that movie. Yeah.

So I so you're an indie fan. Yes. Uh, last to say is my favorite one really enjoyed race or the last arc. I remember doing my rewatch it a few months ago because we just bought all of them.

And I could do without them. And I don't mind Kino the crystal skull apart from the monkey thing going and say, yeah trying to wear an ape. I could do without them. But it's not bad.

So I haven't I haven't rewatched any of them since before crystal skull and Chris old skull. I watched in the theater and that's it. And I was re watching it this week. I, you know, I love them.

They're awesome. But last crusade I've seen twice this week I was watching it. I was gonna watch Chris crystal skulls and I was like, nah, I'm gonna watch that same again. And then started and, you know what, I really liked the photo.

I wanted to come out of it being in the edgy. Like it's my favorite. there but it's weird movie but like you said on Twitter recently and a lot of people have said Indiana Jones is a weird movie saga in general melting Nazis people doing voodoo and stealing and just ripping hearts off those ghosts of temple knights aliens yeah even last crusade you know forget the thousand-year old knight just sitting there um indian his dad have sex with the same girl who looks like indies mom come on and that's again people have this nostalgia for color glasses and they forget why we fell in love with this type of movies and we start war sometimes there's no movies you know and this one I guess is also silly and people just oh they mess up the character but anyway so those three are the ones I want to go watch I don't know if I'll be able to watch all three but I'll do my best open-himer I'm definitely going to that one because it comes out I'm gonna be off that week from work anyways so I'm gonna go watch open-himer regardless and I'll try to do the other two with rewatch all the mission impossible movies here recently I know my daughter wants to see that one and Indiana Jones will see maybe I can take some more all right oh we have want to say I don't know what was more ridiculous though the rumor or people freaking out over it like guys come on all right let's talk about it real quick so I'm just gonna do something no no I just want to say it's ridiculous I know even gonna write what's gonna write but yeah when do people get listening to Doomcog and Mike zero's of the world and believing from those two I think so I think it was Doomcog's gonna say it and then Jeff Snyder said something and then people whoa what's going on like you said as soon as the trans actress gets announced all over Southern like we spent like two hours it's a deal comic a Star Wars celebration now is canceled all right so let's try this again I saw a trailer all day we said when it's a song at really coming out would it be during the NBA finals a little bit later we didn't know the release date now we know it's gonna be also in the third but then you also got trailer basically a teaser was only a 30 seconds but I think it was like a TV spot yeah anyway we got a lot maybe not a lot of new footage some new footage a new voiceovers this one was very rebel centric I know the first one didn't connect a lot to rebels this seemed a continuation of that rebel storyline quick thoughts on the new TV spots so I honestly can't recall so much about it I watched it on a red light because it was very short but you know that shot of the beginning with the green plexi were like oh yeah that was really cool that's why you have to watch it right before we saw the show because I watched it yesterday I know I know but we got like I mentioned more rebels by Sabine using S was lightsaber that everyone freaked out fighting that new villain I forgot her name one thing I was gonna wait for if we do a soka speculation before it drops but now we seen Sabine with long hair and we showed here do you think we're getting all her shots with long hair a flashback or does she just cuts it during the season because she likes to mess up with I mean I think that's like a very safe bet that she just cuts it in the middle show but I'm leaning into my prediction that the show takes place on different moments in time like it starts maybe a maybe like during rebel season four then we jump ahead to to Mando and all that so and maybe we get to see that relationship between a soka and Sabine you know evolve throughout time okay yeah because when she shows up with a short hair I mean let me when a soka shows up to pick her up in low-fowl she has a short hair which is of course that end cap to to rebels so that might be like you said how the show starts and then just forget us five years or six years at this point I don't know I mean yeah about five or six years to her with long hair fighting this neo-inquisitor whatever we want to call them Ezra Ezra we'll see I don't know her boyfriend yeah this a lot that we can talk about of what my have gone in esra said for I don't how many years it's been gone now it's been like ten years it's been like ten years it's been like I'm really really leaning into the fact that Thrawn thinks he knows something and he's just doing everything in his power to corrupt him and getting all the information he can from from Ezra and I think that's how the red or orange lights say people play into it yeah so we'll say that's that's just where I'm leaning to all right in the next week we'll get a new reports and that is been canceled or that is sucks well I'm really excited for us okay I've been up and down like I said about the two trailers I really captivated me so I can't wait for this series and now we know August 23rd basically two months I think someone post-series about 60 days out so it's not that far away I know I got Wednesday stuff not off I work from home as you know I work from home but I like the masochism and engaging at 6 a.m. well that's on you yeah that's on me all right let's go to something else that's not on you but we wanted to chill out and I'm one of those people and it was that the movie release for the new the three Star Wars movies just got changed a couple of weeks ago we believe one was going to be December 2025 but I got moved to May of 26 second movie December 2026 and there you go with your leaning and the third movie December 2027 all tea myself included and half of Star Wars 3 were online to say they're doing the same thing they didn't learn anything from solo Kathy Caden said this is a 35 year engagement we're gonna we're not gonna push movies and you came back and say chill out this is just chill out I'm saying is in the chat oh yes that's a great question so hopefully yeah yeah yeah and I won't get ahead of myself but okay I tweeted out and people really need to calm down this is like the fourth slate we've gotten since my subscriber came out none of the movies have come out we have no idea which movies coming out when they're just releasing us late to let us know it's three hours no they'll probably get pushback why do people act as this is as if this is written in stone like it's not it's I don't care like I'm a dangerous can't die nasty comes two weeks before well unfortunately can't is in trial right now so that's gonna happen you send more to get someone else oh yeah don't leave it Washington yeah so there's also a strike going on so those movies are gonna just went that out so those movies are also gonna move just wait wait until the marketing starts and even then the movies can still get pushed like down like and this whole thing with five-year commitment like oh they're not coming to the five-year kind of yes they are like we've got announced a couple months ago they won't come out for a while so chill come down they'll all probably get sequels like fine it's like people just want to get outraged or everything and not just fan of man it's like friends I'll say I felt for it I felt for it and I was what are we doing but then I sat back cold come down and I thought okay we have this right it makes sense they're not gonna push all three just because so let's just push the first one release wise you're sorry it's not there sitting us 2035 we don't know where these strike is gonna and but of course it's gonna push the movie why are you gonna move three let's just move one right now and by the way here's a secret those lights they're not for us the fans they're for investors so they know what's coming out so they know where their money is going towards yeah I had something else don't remember anyway um and I don't care in the sense that even if they come out one movie each month or three straight months I'm gonna watch all three so I don't in that sense I don't care like you said if they come out every year will be there every year it just it was glaring a shot just a first of all everything is moving and we're getting two hours moving in six months like oh crap what's going on but then when you sit back I say okay oh it's just relax and this would probably won't hold and then when they move the other ones people just gonna freak out again and by the way you're buck we're talking about like oh if this movie can survive may it's not as tough on us we thought it was and I kind of agreed but I also kind of thought about maybe that main movie maybe maybe it's like a smaller budget movie maybe the thought of the Jedi movie mangoes like ah just give me $50 million and I'll make and they're like yeah well then this movie doesn't need to make a billion dollars so I don't know I don't know what they're thinking I don't know I can I'll judge the movie once they come out yeah so my I don't care I don't subscribe now to either Star Wars needs to be a may release or a Christmas release I love the Christmas release I do but I don't think that I don't care the movies gonna make the same amount if it comes in the summer or in the winter I don't care about that my thing was with that comment it Star Wars is not the only game in town like it was oh no the 70s and late 1990s early 2000s everything else the Avengers like them or not the MCU is the crema the crop right now so just when let me finish real quick when anyway I can't when I can't what she said just because I'm right and I start was we don't mean it's gonna sell because we start with the same thing with the movies now so that's what I said you can just put it out there say we start was just gonna rate so 100 million dollars so that's why I came saying that was not the same thing you gotta be careful putting up angels right before it but the more I think about it like after you calm me down was I'm pretty sure they know and they're not gonna put those two heavyweights next to each other it's there for now one of them will move and that's what both Captain Kennedy and Bob Iger are still there and they both said it was a mistake so but after Indiana Jones comes out Captain Kennedy's leaving because that's what don't talk and my children told us okay also to only point out that flash I think it's a plastic sample for this like flash is a movie that's been like delayed for like five years so you know the pandemic was in the middle but yeah the flash movie was supposed to go out like way way way a long time ago and now it came out so well I've done better if it came out way way way ago maybe we came out in December I actually like the flash movie I'm a little bit bummed it's bombing like it is because it's it's bad like I haven't watched in my brother no who is a big comic book fan a big star was fan he didn't like it for me like Michael Keaton that was it well I was gonna say if you guys are Keaton fans go watch it because my dad my dad never wants to watch any movie on opening that day unless it's always only and he's like we're gonna go watch I had gone to a press screen the week before and he lost his mind with him like oh my god Michael Keaton like finally he's bad oh my god he's looking at doing the things and I'm a Keaton fan and I can't remember if it was 1996 Batman or Batman Returns was one of my first movies that I saw in the movie theater like when I got this my dad took us me my brother son a friend of ours and my dad really didn't do that against the movie theater so I remember that vividly what's one of those though but I like Keaton well there's been so many great Batman's afterwards that I know like he's not he's all Batman is Keaton or Keaton is Batman I like he's not even closer to me my favorite but he was pretty good I'll watch it same thing it'll be yeah it'll be un-max like yeah at this point probably next month we'll be there sadly something oh man all right something else that drop and this I'm excited for this is Star Wars Outlaws a brand new game from with it so we're doing stuff thank you so a brand new open world game taking place between the price right back and return of the day die it says it's a receipt all as cave vest and emerging scandal seeking freedom and the means to start a new life along with a companion nicks includes a crime syndicate iconic planets and new planets and it comes out in 2024 which is going to be a snack year for Star Wars very not the movies or everything else I'll mention my thing and I mean about Otay your big gamer your life survivor you've played that we talk about that a little bit are you excited for you surprised for us are we getting another Star Wars game so soon and after seeing not just a trailer but then there's like a 10-minute gameplay that also dropped that surprised me the fact that they had gameplay like so ready to come out I was surprised because I had totally forgotten this game was being made so so from that but when they show like the teaser I was like oh yeah that they were like this I'm excited for it because the gameplay looks cool I like this moment in time because people are like oh it's original trilogy again but it's like near the end so the Empire is starting to crumble and the whole I've never been huge into the underworld world the whole crime syndicate thing I think it could be like I'm not betting it's gonna be this but maybe you can take elements from what Kasten wanted to do with solo to and the syndicate wars so we'll see I'm a little bit skeptical Tony's in the chat I know he's a big Ubisoft fan I'm not Ubisoft has this tendency of releasing games that feel the same but with different skins like they all feel like a Assassin's Creed and and even the Assassin's Creed it's like oh new game oh he just getting your robes and it's okay so we'll see they got a little bit better recently so so Tony's getting mad but he can all them right yeah so I'm still optimistic I'm not down on the game but maybe cautiously optimistic I will buy it they won yeah I don't follow game developers that much as I did before so I can't talk about you we saw whatever but one thing other you mentioned Assassin's Creed I love the Assassin's Creed game for about five hours and then it just gets repetitive and I stop playing that so hopefully it's not that gameplay looks great on the other half and actually console this is one I'll probably get I didn't get Jedi survivor I'll get this one and I'm not the mind that says just get me out of the arena or trilogy I want something new but even though it's that timeline it's not the same story it's not Jedi it's not the rebelled legacy Empire we've been through this it's something new obviously on the wall now trying to do something out there so that is very interesting especially for this time of open-world game so I'm into it nix I don't like nix I know people love it no island nix is a little I have a madam so I like no next is the creature the actual little dog I still haven't seen anything about him so I don't know why he's not knobs that you immediately yeah it's not knobs I don't like axolotls I've worked with axolotls I don't like salamanders I don't like lisors this is a lisor dog it's not for me okay you're gonna be mad I got it I am a grumpy man when comes to lisors I don't like this it's actually in the kitchen that's bugging me if it comes if it starts working down your background I might just leave but if they have the weird ones that have like the like curly tail like oh there's like five right outside my window they're leaving here and I had to take one from the skylight about two years ago it took many three hours and I still try to check it yeah it's bad but the only thing that kind of weirded me out is like oh it's between Empire and return the data and the syndicate's are thriving but this is kind of where Kira comes in and wrecks havoc and sends the syndicates to hell so like I'm ready for this to like not connect in any way to Kira's story yeah if Crimson Dawn shows up I'll throw my controller and start dancing like so I show up we have Kira Crimson Dawn Han Solo Lando I know Boba face showed up in survival this is a perfect the huts could show up I think that's a pretty safe bet yeah who else oh we see the pikes in the trailer yeah there seems to be a big bad there's another syndicate that I can't remember right now this ha can't because it's the pikes the huts black sounds no but black sound I think it's gone by now I can't remember I need to go back to roe about the hunters and everything yeah I'm excited for the game yeah 24 or come out are you one of those I once left sex with the droid no I don't know if we want to assess with him oh my goodness like any other joint of his kind so because he has a dagger or something I couldn't believe it was yeah my timeline was weird that oh look at anyway oh we'll be doing waffles after dr.

or as a man chat are you heading into the mixed-up? no all right if I have my red Harry public shirt you know we're talking about the Harry public and today he's all about path of vengeance the final book in the phase two saga yes I'm calling a saga by Kevin Scott who has been one of the best Star Wars authors out there in their in recent memory he's brought out with heat after heat rising storm as we know from phase one fan favorite out there and then we got path of vengeance YA book to end phase two out there before we going to more details just your quick impression so on path of vengeance I like a book I I like the book I didn't love it as much as I did I have some issues with it that I think they have been resolved I would love the book but it's the end of phase two and I think it was smart undoing something it's just not completely closing the door on everything and leaving something open to interpretation or to future books so I I don't know I liked it I liked it a lot it's there between this and character listen for me for my favorite of phase two because they brought everything together which was what I was missing from the first few phase two books character is in ended that a Raman Avernon conflict we have all those other characters and all the characters were missing from that book they show up here so in that sense I really enjoyed it but I at no moment where I was like oh man this is so great I can't wait to relive this moment I enjoyed it but it didn't captivate me as much as the phase one closer okay so I think there's something to say this is the fastest I'd rather star was book and you'll be like this book came out a while ago and I read the have a question do you like Foo Fighters Foo Fighters not particularly I was gonna play a Foo Fighters I just do it yes of course I do every long solo I have a confession to like all right there we go when I woke up this morning I wasn't even halfway through the oh my goodness I love the dog and daycare I sat with the book and I read it completely oh my god I want to commend you for that and I want to send you money for your dog daycare I feel bad now oh so I was so I was you idea to do this later right away so it wasn't he was like literally like pulling my I'm going so yes this morning I was in halfway through the book woke up early breakfast the doctor day sat down I'm not standing up until I finish it I start to have lunch go to about yeah I know a few days ago you told me you hadn't finished I didn't think you're gonna be halfway through it I was when we talk I was like three chapters I was right it's okay where are you and then I'll just kind of talk around it but now I couldn't do that so Path of Vengeance is basically a straight sequel to Path of Deceit the first one that came out tezagrandt and just in Ireland we did a great job bringing phase two into the spotlight even though was a lot smaller story and I thought vengeance just breaks that open and I would say and I said on my review page three the name Kevmo sink comes out and I definitely get four stars for me because four Kevmo and Sala my crabby waiting for someone to acknowledge them the first one to die but he has a level there and nobody said anything so in that point I was very happy you're thinking about it Marta didn't show up for most of this yeah she was at the beginning at the end and that's it oh I didn't want to mention that the I was I was I was in Shink's question it was great but it spoiled me what was gonna happen but I was thought oh no but but it was so cool because I didn't know the extent of it so I was like oh interesting fun fact I haven't even met Olivia when I read the question oh leave your server on I like where am I Alan that's a lot of book this is a freaking heavy book and I'll say it's unnecessary and here's I think my biggest gripe with the book it it had it does this thing that it goes back to all these stories with me already read yeah and I'm like I didn't need to go back to jet I like I don't think anything happened in that section that I was like oh it's interesting I didn't know this especially also because they covered that in the comic comic comic book line which is written by Kevin so yeah I don't know that was for me and the whole planet X thing I was that's where I started I think that's about where I started this morning okay I was so bored honestly I you know the whole got silver skin con was kind of cool yeah but I read it this morning you can put a gun to my head I can I can't name a single person who was there apart from our sunshine and what book I don't know even on my notes planet X and questions so I understand what you're saying it is a very heavy book this is a book that if you haven't read any of phase two you can just grab and you know most of the things are happening you could go straight from path of the sea to here and basically have everything there so maybe it was a complaint because in phase one people started dropping out because I haven't read everything it's a lot out there I understand it's a lot in phase one to follow up if you're not really in its book you might get lost because it usually one or two paragraph or one or two pages to get you caught up here is chapters so maybe they wanted to avoid that and I think there's a lot of people that prefer phase two before that recently smaller stories more character centric instead of this big gigantic confrontations which is what I love about phase one so it's kind of that well for us we prefer for something but the things that we don't like our phase two is what a lot of people gravitate to but one thing I love here with Kev Mosink and with Yana Rowe and Corplow her now the sixth girlfriend Kevin Scott does something very similar to what he did with Dooku Jedi lost it's having this ghost quote unquote of this person very close to you being there and I love that from the beginning and I love it was different because you have this Jedi in Kev Mosink but just patronizing more than telling her how she's wrong I have watched the world trust you and that's why I'm dead and on the other side you have Corplow telling Yana you're pushing her you're gonna get out live your life get away from very different from you think will be the opposite so I like seeing that did you like that they brought back Kev Mosink and Corr no just as oh yeah this happened but they're active parts in the book I love their inclusion and I love how open to interpretation it is because it can be this whole thing with maybe they are force ghosts or some force protection maybe they're just like a memory like Kylo with Han and even at the beginning of the book they mentioned like oh they say ever any can speak to that so maybe it's that we don't know we have no idea what it is but it's just thrown in there and just run with it yeah I love that because Yana Rowe is one of my favorite characters of phase two so I'm glad that we got more with her she's has she's in this balance I have been to deal with discussing with Marla which I know you want to talk about and she trying to bring her cousin to kind of leave this cult but at the same time trying to do something to help these people that she grew up with with even the the Herald which she hates I wanted to kill but like you said we go back to to Jeda basically started Jeda Baro Jeda one thing that surprised me there I can just jump in a round I was gonna leave this for later the name less or the leveler now I don't know the difference between the name and the leveler the leveler is the first one the one that was basically the mother's okay because at one point they say like oh the name was left but the leveler is still here okay that was the other way and you know what I'm not gonna mention it now I'm gonna leave for the end what I was gonna say it kind of brings everything together so there's a model role which was this very meek person just do whatever the mother tells her and then kind of slowly getting to herself and dealing with the betrayal that she fell from kept hosting she missed this all the guy that saves her volcano and they're still having this relationship and then they go to planet X she just says I gotta go there to show my worth basically but did you like that character growth in Marla like her dislike her she went through a lot this book I love Marla I love how bad chick crazy and she's like I see her like oh so this is why marking is so insane like really out there like she there's like a point I think this is very early on the book so I really can't remember what it is that happens but she's like I think the forces and I'm the wrong path or something she's like no that can't be like oh my god you're so crazy when she goes off Hannah's row hand with no where she's gone that but even them all is like okay why did I create even the girls like oh yeah close face you're right no she I really loved that I saw a lot of people say like her turn was very quick but I think her turn was very clear from out of the sea like at the end Mariana's looking at her like what the hell did I just get into because why does just like she's she always wanted to be out there spreading the word of the past she wanted to be one of the children and be on the gay selectors or when she got that opportunity she's done it yes I'm leaving that row family but to me it wasn't sudden because she always wanted to be that right hand woman basically to the mother to be out there spreading the word of the path and when she saw that she was getting put down especially for both kind of you kyuk I'll give you a name there for the book it was with them oh yeah the one that she sends away yeah but so when she said that she's getting stepped on she didn't know I go proof my word and just jumps into the ship with sunshine down to life freaking hate sunshine to go to planet X and then as she starts getting more into it because of the level and getting the road of power she starts I get a six hundred pushable almost so it's not a quick turn it takes time I think it's well earned by the end she's gone even with spoilers when she kills the mother because she betrayed her because she were for sensitive and that's all her freaking mind can't oh you like to me I'm gonna kill it's I think it goes beyond that because I think the book makes it pretty clear that she was making everyone crazy yeah because throughout this book and even in cataclysm like what the hell is wrong with these people why are they all so violent so so paranoid and then we learned some other who's like basically doing the so let's jump into it because that was one of my biggest critics of why I didn't like that part of the open hand why would people falling for this it's so stupid that you're saying this and everyone's really been it oh because the mother force sensitive and her power is that anyone that gets closer she can just manipulate oh it makes sense I'm super because I didn't hear I didn't go to the whole story and that was great by Kevin making it that point yes it's for sensitive and this is her force power everything makes sense now and I love that yeah it took us a long way together but I think it was also earned so when sunshine is explaining to Janash he's like you think I'm still like no I think he has a point oh and Tony has a he doesn't like F1 no he was mean to Marta all right so planet X let's go planet X real quick all that makes you horny so he's a force planet it's very first you have this veil that no one can penetrate which kind of felt like X single to me yeah that's why I thought yeah which is funny because in in survivor the planet is behind the veil to like sort of like so there's a lot of bales and there's another way also but it's cool to see a new type of planet is I don't know I call it force sensitive but it regenerated itself very quickly everyone got healed everyone's force sensitivity became not a to I just came out if you didn't even know them which what kind of has some forces like that yeah even the ship builder he's like I don't know what happened I just saw the sky makes sense yeah they're hearing everyone's thought because someone saying that they're gonna die and kill everyone because the force there was a funny moment where Marta's like thinking like oh I'm trusting someone who built the ship with the force she's so I hate him but I love her because we know people like that it's like I don't want to it's not it I go to a political comment it's like right now if we're talking to someone and they make a good point and I know you're a Republican or whatever you're on the other side I can't agree with you she said that point like why am I agreeing with this person that's a Jedi or uses the force she's been saved like three times by the force and she still hates everyone's like it doesn't give you the power to save me what's gonna happen in whatever that's your fault because you say me just shut up shut up Marta so do you remember about the under-dweller and the defender and I just got to say lovers is con why did they go to planet X let's start they got to pick up some eggs some leveler okay by the way they go to planet X on the comic I have the storm I can fix an eye on their I went back and read that part just to make sure it wasn't yeah especially which I guess that's why I think the point of that part of the story which I think could have been cut out was one to you know have the adventure cereal every star was needs apparently which I'm not really married to that idea and also I think it was to give you know Marta the love interest which again I don't think was needed I know people in this relationships and star with everything cool but I didn't care like I really didn't care about bokana and a roll can I can't even remember the name um bokana is there both both Katana they don't know yeah so I don't know I really didn't like that part I had a question about the other word on the defender I'm not even gonna know I met at this morning so maybe I remember so the other one to me it's basically another nameless oh like a huge one yeah and also those are the eggs are taken from this creature and then we have these protectors I came out to save them that was fighting the under a one point I know it's not the same creature was hoping that the defender was those lions that chance or whatever has kind of described like a little like but I think they're not like yeah so like oh that would be great if by the end of phase three you got the leveler against the targets that would be freaking great but I think those ones like bigger yeah they're huge ah but yeah so planet X it was okay they got King commercial Godzilla to say alright so let's talk a bit more about the mother and Alan's coming that we'll get into in a minute yeah but it's really revealed that L.S. the other mother is actually L.S. the server on the older sister which was revealed months ago by the way right I remember reading her last name at some point by couldn't point well you this I was shocked I'll say I was shocked to find out that her and Olivia were related did you see this coming and did it surprise you it was it just another yeah we didn't need it it surprised me when I read Alan's coming because that's how I know but when I read I was like oh this is interesting and I thought is this like a maybe a mall or palpatine thing where they're evil because they weren't found by the Jedi but that was like wait no maybe she's not she's not for sensitive so the fact that she was was a surprise when I'm reading it I was like oh interesting so I I really like the twist and yeah I think it says a lot about about cults and about them it's a very nice comparison to an aisle because the mother has this she built this cult based on hate for the Jedi because they're supposed to be doing this thing and it all revolves on personal things personal issues with her and the Jedi they didn't find her worthy so she sang read them and it's very similar to Mark on he's selling this hate for the for the for the new for the Republic for the Jedi and he's like oh they don't want you they don't like our style and it's really all because of him he has these ideals and this agenda he wants to push forward and I know a lot of people in Twitter like oh he's right I don't think he's right at all he reminds me of a lot of people that use this kind of rhetoric to push their agendas but yeah maybe that's why the US votes away I don't even want to anyway so yeah because I've been waiting for phase one even when Ricely Storm came out not Ricely Storm yeah what's Ricely Storm the the Martin Rose comic I understand I like why does he hate the Jedi so much and now we start getting a sense of why the Rose family hates the Jedi from face to everything happened with more than with Alessia I was completely surprised by the reveal because through the whole book we have women haven't met her name Matthew Candy out Candy out the main Jedi the whole book and Olivia they don't get a lot and she's trying and trying what the hell why you're not open up to me what's going on why you so help me to go find a mother this is why so to me was a complete shock and find out that she was for sensitive and pissed off at the Jedi because she wasn't selected surprise me and I love that reveal because it explains so much that we just don't this is why she's been just controlling people so easily sunshine every time he always loves us when he works in the door oh this is why it makes sense that it was said about the beginning of the book and apart where at least he has talking with Alessia is talking to a sheriff of Donna and Marta's like why is it she's falling for everything she's saying like the sheriff's talk like about crime name this is the first one and now the mother is dead I'm surprised they kill her oh no the minute Marta shows up with the level like you're dead and she's like oh good kill Janas like I'm not talking to you know you'll leave me I'm not talking to Olivia yeah it was great can we talk a little bit about Marta's motivations at the end because I was left a little bit confused I think I think the general indication is that yes she still hates the Jedi but there's a very specific line where she says that she wants to take down people like the mother who used to force to manipulate others and that for me kind of like the said like dark side uses that used to force you know to inflict pain to just make things their way that's not really the Jedi way to do things they use the force to protect other people so I was it did you see it as she's still like I want to end the Jedi and everything they sent for or do you think that's shifted a little bit I don't know I don't think it's just a shift that completely I think she just horrible is betrayal really long and feeling yeah but feeling all her betrayals confront force users from Tefmo from Bocana and now with the mother so I think that's a huge motivation for her not just DJ la evil because they use before everyone has betrayed and lied to me it's a july so I get a take them down so that's the way I see it because it doesn't make sense to just hate the Jedi for being the Jedi because we saw the mother was just doing it for her own goal so in that sense I kind of also had that thought I was still gonna be found the same thought that the Jedi are evil because they use the force always because he just feels betrayed by every force user that she's kind of let in that her hatred might keep going but also I read this book months ago so I don't remember all of it so let's talk a little bit about the name less the leveler the under-dweller the creature that's killing the Jedi let's talk a little bit about them moving now to phase three how can the Jedi deal with this because by the end of capitalism we have Yoda and Prayton Sun saying yes there's a creature out there what yeah so they're like there's a creature out there affecting the Jedi we can't let people know about this so let's just close the book on it it's not even gonna go into the Jedi archives what the hell are you doing this I don't know but that's where we're at now going to phase three because we're breathing so yeah I guess that makes sense it's very down for 200 years but first there was like party when they're in Jada and they say they kill a leveler using this dog side gauntlet that I found the name because it shows up in the comic book hand of side Beerus and it killed a name that's really easily or the leveler and I think later in the book there's another mention of the dog side gauntlet I can't remember I couldn't find it do you think that the Jedi might have to go to the dog side to defeat the level and then this goes to Yoda always saying that once you've done the dark path to go forever we'll dominate your destiny where they push so much against it and they lose all this Jedi the last 20 you think they have might have to go to the outside to defeat them no no I don't think that's gonna be it hey maybe it is maybe they go seeking this dark thing I think it has to do more with what how Maddie gets out of it yeah when she's being affected she's starting to turn into because she's seeing the colors and how we see in the comics which by the way I love how it's described in the book like this book because for all its what Floss face do has done a great job you know with the whole leveler thing I love how it's depicted it's very visceral but she's she starts to focus on other things and there's a moment where she's like oh this is how we get out of it together like and that's I think what the leveler does that's so horrifying it's never soft your connection to everything and it makes you feel alone it makes you feel scared afraid that's like the constant thing in Rising Storm that's what Stalin's feels when he sees load in fear and I think that's how they're gonna get out of it it maybe a little bit corny and cheesy but it's Star Wars is corny and she's so with the power friendship great quote also whoever holds the ride is basically me and look at the mother yes her and she was alive more than loading can say alright be so that's like great quote from Maddie going off on that she said that the Jedi can be afraid and scared but that Jedi know that fear is fleeting and should never win the they face it knowing that the forces with them and they are one with the force which that's why she starts getting out of it I was like I know this is fake basically I know what's happening is not real I can't be afraid as she slowly starts getting into but she faces the level like a few more times and still takes the time to go out of it and I forget the name of the other guy that won the phone kept one silent the first book something yeah I just read it I don't want to go looking for it I don't have the book with me but he got freaking affected by the level constantly it's now he went dodge side also it's like we're breaking back he kind of lost his mind and he's like basically like there's no stuff it's gonna go do the the barash vow also with the other guy from face one but also at the end they're just finishing up with Yoda and Kraton kind of hiding everything at the end of midnight horizon when Yoda shows up with who that figure that we still don't know who it is at least I don't know bandages I think people thought it was gonna be the mother when they reveal she would have bandages maybe it's the Jedi that found yeah maybe I'm leaning towards it's one of the Jedi that's just went on maybe it's fun just give me more yeah but Yoda says and I wrote it down to force her path to the future guided by the circus of the past we will be so I think this is where he's going to reveal hey guys we run into this 200 years ago my bad this is what's going on and it's another kind of nothing develops on Yoda kind of hiding information from people he's basically like the Foo Fighters song I have another confession and I was telling this to someone who's like how am I supposed to buy that the Jedi didn't know about this if this happened 200 years ago like because Yoda hidden he shows up at the end of midnight horizon like yeah yeah you know that he's the only thing it's like Tony saying all right so all the as we wrap up and I don't know I was thinking about doing a phase two kind of your overall show at one point but real quick just your overall thoughts on phase two as we move now to phase three later this year I liked phase two for what it was I don't think it earned the hype to like it's just needed like we need to go back to it and hey maybe by the end of phase here like I was so stupid that way and I hope I am but right now I don't feel the urgency to having stopped phase one where it stopped and going back to the last like it I'm not angry that we got these stories I I like them but I the way was structured like I think it was a little bit disjointed like the whole IRM and Ereno thing barely tied into like it did because it was all the path but the stories weren't really that intertwined because even when they coincide in Dalna it's things are happening different things are going on so I and how do I think of it I don't think they even mentioned in this book when the forces of IRM and Ereno arrived to say that's not even mentioned they like wake up from the explosion the war is over so I don't know like it's it was a cool phase but I don't think it got near to what phase one did I love cataclysm I love out of the seat I like this one convergence more or less I still need to read the comics but that's where I'm at yeah these were very good individual stories I think because I enjoyed every book and battle vengeance cataclysm I really like them the others were okay but same as you I don't see the need for phase two in terms of this is why we need to go back 200 years and for two years or whatever just forget about all these characters that we've introduced that people have fallen in love with like you say you can't remember the characters that went to Planet X there's not a single character from phase two that I really am like man I miss them I miss Elsar I miss Estella and and all those guys and those stories I miss them I want to go back to them there's no one here that I can say okay these are gonna be my top 10 Jedi which I can put from phase one and we can go down the list I love most of them here even though I love a cylinder show I like Galan Attai I like whatever is written in the Prince of the Sun sorry oh Axel I like those characters they have fun to answer okay because they did a lot in convergence they did something character but not as much but I didn't feel that connected to you know them till the very end which was a great closer but wasn't enough for me to say yeah face two right on par with phase one and again I know a lot of people prefer phase two for those same reasons that I'm bashing it but I know some of those characters I didn't connect to them as much as I did with phase one and the stories I really love those stories in phase one that I was really super so denial I love my key on I love Lauren la Lorna Dee and all that infighting with them was so great the what I mean the one in the mexu I can't remember his name yeah he was awesome I'll push back to stuff a little bit there are characters I love Sherry I love her that character I love Gala Mard Ayanna I really like kept Mo when he was around but I do it I don't know if you feel this way I kind of feel like the Jedi would that were introduced or just introduced because we were telling a bad guy story yeah and we need a light side perspective and for me with the exception of Gala and maybe Cervandra there's not any other Jedi that I love the ones that are in character I didn't care for it great and Sun was cool but again I didn't really care that much so that's like where I'm at with that yeah also and again it's they get to show how bad the nameless is and the levelers but yeah oh they're saying you get I they're dead oh I'm introducing you Jedi Master giving this new father wanna wear the ways of mother that it's like the shot value of seeing Jedi die is gone right now because we're all expecting it so it's like really I don't even I don't know proper from those like we mentioned Gala Cylandra and some of the characters the others they're okay but I may smile my trio and all the weird ones words or Berlin or Berlin and free history lessons well Gio the image he wasn't Gio doing yeah I think the characters in this place did not have as much personality as I'm in phase because Alan's point but I was surprised when I saw Alan put it yeah I don't agree with the Jedi thing like I kind of do but I think the point here is that like how how someone's own grief and someone's own like vendetta against another group can radicalize other people and you know this basically sets up the Nile like the mother's hatred towards the dead I set up 250 years of insanity so like yes it's because the Jedi the whole family separation which is bad but at the same time it's the mother's choices and then the row family's choices like every time I'm like well yes Mark and Row is crazy but colonialism it's like yeah I get it but that's not Mark and his angle like he's not looking to liberate anyone he doesn't care about that he just wants to destroy the Jedi it's like it's it's the storm but the storm revolves around me it's everything I want this is my galaxy it's not our galaxy the galaxy's mine like I said before I was completely surprised by it we can go day and night talk about our DJI rights with how they deal with removing children from their families how picking one over the other my affect them and that they might be not caring about that but it was very surprising I really loved it and it gets you to think why why do the Jedi remove someone from their family and then you can't even go and meet them you don't know anything or your family yeah that's just and all that again do cool get I lost he finds out where he's gone from all his family and that wasn't the reason for it to go to the dark side but maybe they need to kind of rethink what they're doing hmm but if if he do was such an interesting character because I think we could talk about him and his motivation for days so I'm not gonna get into that muddy waters but it would be cool if in oh what's his name the hunter Jedi movie mangoes movie we kind of see how that rules starts like that why no attachments like why they're they're dangerous if not handled in the correct way because I think the high republic has done a good job to be like hey no attachments that's BS like there's no way but it's how we use those attachments and how we approach them so we'll be one thing I'm very pro Jedi I know say I don't I'm not in the camp that says that Jedi were wrong it was made window you're the soul I'm not in that camp or it's just and Lumi not responsible Lumi not sure you can go every time in the high republic when a Jedi comes out and pushes back against the order is way I'm jumping up and then my chair chiving them because I agree a hundred percent in that so I love seeing that in book form and reading and how again that's why I love into the dark so much it's right why can we mourn this poor kid that just died and rejoice because there are one with the force and that again inquisitive right it's a quote I didn't doesn't feel right for a lot of people when someone that you've grown up with dies and you just it's fine they're one with the force forget about it no rejoice it's like Thanos rejoice because I'm not to kill you but you know even I was in a funeral the other day and the priest was like we should be happy because that person is at the eternal party I like it's not helping anyone yeah that point is no it was like a man it's a funeral you can get away with the people all right we gotta move on to the second part of Alan's question is also a user price at the mother was using Jedi mind powers innately at all times truly scary as a cult leader yep yes like we just said this what the thing I was hating about the battle the open hand that I hated so much got revealed right there that's why because just being around her presence can affect people what one thing I think I didn't get was she doing it on purpose I want to say no or maybe it's I mine maybe she there's a portion of it that's unintentional but I think she was going on purpose just she's a monster she said the little super bombs around the place oh that was freaking yeah crazy yeah I think you can probably it she can probably enhance it if she wants to it's like it happens but she will enhance it even Marta who lost her mind I was like this is too far okay those Jedi but no this joke over here I mean she there was a job like one thing that blew my mind it's only been two months face two months that's freaking nuts Tony and I were speculating about this in in one of the reviews and we get confirmation because the Jedi who invested yeah I thought it was the third question also the third one is if you had a Jedi power that you could possibly use always what would you pick oh I had one I forgot I gotta think about it do you remember the force part in this book force forts do you not remember that well wait yeah this faster that uses the force to make this huge part yeah those are the things I'm a force part you know what I like to be like a mother I want people to be influenced by me yeah I'm usually the kind of person that when things go wrong people look at me like what we do now I'm like are you guys looking at me so if they're gonna do that might as well be under my spell constantly yeah there you go on I would like to know when people are talking about me or trying to or lying to me or trying to manipulate I don't know I don't know I don't want to be in people's minds it's not that maybe it's that I don't want to know everyone's thoughts let me see what else if I could use a power innately I would like to talk to force ghosts like no when people die like you get a really boy you figure it out no I don't even know that shit like no oh man I've biggest props I can give Kevin for this book is that it's very different from rising storm categories might be more in line with that book but shows that Kevin has like a very very broad range and writing yeah it wasn't bad I just it I was hoping this book was set would sell me on the whole face thing and it didn't quite do that so that's why I left a little bit disappointed yeah maybe I think we still need one more book because between character cuz this one is the two ends of what's happening on both sides everything's coming together now give me a finish I think I agree I think this it should have been three books for each yeah group of books yeah faces way we didn't get waves originally yeah imagine if we had had Marta and Kevin for one more book and have him die maybe half halfway through I think that would be a little bit yeah again they also mentioned at the beginning that not every face was gonna be the same in terms of length of everything's gonna be three waves or whatever I mean I have a three in space with the same space I mean it's very face I would love to know why they decided to let's just go back 200 years to tell a story of why the Rose hey that I would I think would have been done in one book going this would have been awesome if it came out right after the entire story and like hey guys we have this prequel yeah we're being cool also all right so that
