So before we go into those current cany comets that I mentioned this is it's not news where it's fun to speculate I think it was yesterday while promoting the new Marvel series secret invasions Kira herself and Ben Mendelssohn were again promoting Secret invasions and Ben Mendelssohn as I don't you want to revisit your Star Wars character and Amelia Clark I kind of threw her it through her offer a second genie spec that question she was the only headlights basically and then Saving it saying I'm in the I mean Marvel now, so I can't do it But I don't know do you guys we've talked about this week in a week out You know how much we all love solo on this podcast We talk about one thing I continuation to the solo storyline and key raise that one character apart from Lando Of course at that show announced a while back and we don't know what's gonna happen But here is that one that listening comics has progressed a lot that character has thus dealt with the emperor with Vader with Java She was involved with Boba Freighter and together hold off and solo in carbonite So the character of Kira has really stayed in the front line is install was and it at least that comic books But with this now she could have just said you know that's fine or the answer that everyone gives Oh, I would love to wonder when I was rich out to me, but she was just done So I'm gonna I'm gonna believe I'm gonna believe that something's something's happening with Kira in the live action Right on the wall learning about it soon enough. So if we're not be able to talk about it Basically, but next week we'll talk about that in a soca promo if it drops at some point this week All right So the first news we're gonna talk about today and it's three in one basically and Kathleen Kennedy was as she was doing a recent interview with Games radar look at three impressed and Kathleen Kennedy has some comments about the they see really race Skywalker movie and James Mangum will be what talking about the race Skywalker movie and this is not what I wanted to go here We go She goes on to say how we might connect with the James Mangum movie and says regarding the rain movie It goes on to say I think what's always great about Star Wars It's a big galaxy and we're coming off what was a major wall with the first order of course with the single trilogy And now Ray has made a promise to look and that's really the core or of where we're going and what these stories will be And I think it offers just a tremendous opportunity to introduce new characters and start with something fresh because we come in at it With what George Lucas was creating and now we take all of that and move it to the next chapter So we talked about this a little bit before what we think this rain movie is gonna be everyone also the new Jedi I'm the new Jedi order movies are gonna be rebuilding the idea like all the I can be Up and down with that idea just because I thought Ray was gonna go in a different direction at least in my head ten I'm sorry for some nine But it's gonna be following a new Jedi order There's always rumblings that Finn might come back and we really hope that jumbo jumbo Yeah, I got to reprise his role as Finn and then jumping to that I was I promised but what was hinted at strongly in the sequel trilogy that Finn was for sensitive and let's explore that I'll let us be what 10 years I think they said after 10 to 15 years after a race of Skywalker so her and Finn could be getting to that master Padawan Can of realms so that'd be very interesting and of course whatever you do with Ben solo if he comes back as a force goes For his memories on to be the diet But again, it's a focus a little bit on saying new characters And that's why I always when we start was to start giving those new characters We're moving away from the sequel trilogy and they're really really and everything that we've known a lot about Star Wars We jump into this new realm So I do want to see all those new characters Well for you guys out do you have any thoughts about just hail and make a character right? We just love her so much and he thought about those comments from Captain Kennedy What do you guys hope that we see from the race guy walking movie in terms of returning characters?
Is there any that you think you really want to see or do you want to be more focused on some new characters? So just let me know so then regarding for the donna de jedi movie This is the James Mangome which is said a thousand years I think thousands years before anything I know about Star Wars she goes on to say that comes up a lot from the moment I step in I step in and George Blumming to the company there's been a lot of interest in that she explains so again this Concent squabble I guess on the internet that they don't have an idea that they just look joyous Just look as our plans for the sequel trilogy and what I was doing for just throwing it in the trash as soon as they sign those Contracts we know that some of the ideas in the sequel trilogy especially that we look was portrayed in the last year That was something that George Lucas was thinking about and also going back to the past and how the Jedi were created also came from one of those conversations between the two of them So again this I know sometimes Star Wars doesn't look like they have a plan and I understand all the criticism on that sense but it also shows us that those conversations that Captain Kennedy have with George Lucas at the beginning are still there and they're still trying to see how to bring those ideas into the Forefront and this is a great way to do it Some of Georgia start into those is it gonna be anything to do with the middle The symbiose and all that so maybe going now back for a thousand years and the Jedi find whoever finds a force and creates a Jedi all that comes to me Maybe that brings some sort some of George Lucas ideas from that sense and then finishing up about bringing those two movies together the Ray and the Jin's man go movie she says it was something that Jin man got immediately sparked to and I think it's really a nice Compliment to what we're doing with moving into the future with Ray and then understanding a bit more of where this all came from She explains because it will be at the heart of creating the new Jedi order So to get a real sense of what that might have began with that donna the Jedi could be pretty cool Pretty cool, and it makes sense We know that Star Wars is connected as much as we're moving into opposite directions with the Ray movie going forward into Let's say just the present or those gonna be ten years after we last saw Ray to now three thousand years in the past before we know Anything about the Jedi or the jet or where it finds the force so my thinking is that the risk I walk or knew or the movie will Confirm something for being produced there that would then when we see the James mango movie that donna the Jedi then was Will make sense of them will understand where they came from and of course Ray has those The sacred Jedi text they had to come from somewhere So probably connecting that sense and I'm fine with it I don't want it to connect in the sense that there's a character that's been alive for three thousand years I'm gonna see them now or something, but I'm sure there's gonna be something from that race I walk a movie that maybe doesn't make sense So we all say obviously anything like this in Star Wars before a new force power something like that And then when we go to Jin's mango movie we can see how it makes sense most likely to be tied to the Jedi text That's also Catherine Kennedy said is promise that Ray made to lose I walk about training your Jedi and of course with the with the books with Brandon those face owners She can start doing that which most likely will then connect to the James mango donna the Jedi movies all that to me It makes sense and I also like that. They're still talking about these movies It's not something that God mentioned in Star Wars celebration back in April and then they forgot about it He still comes up. Just fitting the high hero live online Oh, be something we get a rating so but that's not what I want All right, so first I was on to be several the Mandalorian we had Disney's gallery the Mandalorian season 3 Basically behind the scenes of season 3 of the Mandalorian which just ended a couple months ago We never get to see the one for and or and pretty certain that I Didn't care about it Tony Gilroy doesn't care about behind the scenes. Hopefully you'll get you able to finish this episode afterwards, so Mandalorian's Mandalorian season 3 I enjoyed it wasn't my favorite But there was a lot of episodes and moments.
I really enjoyed I know it was a little bit divisive Specifically coming at the heels of and or that raised above what Star Wars TV could be a could look like and of course the writing behind it So a lot of people were expecting the same thing from the Mandalorian other greetings of it But raising the bar on the way the show looks how the characters express themselves the writing the dialogue and when it came A lot of people didn't appreciate that it just felt like more Mandalorian wish to me it's fine You can see baby yoda back there making sure I don't say something something bad and they also But to me felt like more of the same in terms of this is what the Mandalorian show is some episodes especially that course and episodes Still a little bit more to the look at least for and or but it didn't feel to myself as I'm on the lower end episode The other episodes this so to me that series still felt like in Mandalorian I know a lot of you had issues with it with the ending and but then they didn't happen so things were rushed Excuse me. I do understand that but anyway, that's what a show So this behind the scenes seem to me to be more a love letter basically to the whole series of the Mandalorian Not just season three it felt almost like a recap of everything from the beginning to now where they are Same as DC some felt like a still at season finale So I'm not a series finale But it felt like a finale to that in Jaren's story with Grogu at least in this point being the main list of the Mandalorian We talked about this one with the early episode And someday I was also mentioned by Rick from William and we'll jump into it in a few minutes ago about Voca 10 But this whole episode the gallery was more a lot of letters to everything encompassing the Mandalorian not just season three So I did enjoy that and they give me the same feeling that I had watching the show and watching the last episode It's like this chapter is now done What comes next and that's what it felt to me It wasn't groundbreaking that the first one that we had those six episodes We got to learn about the volume the music then you like rectus everything this felt more like Very in general there were some behind the scenes of how some items were made but nothing very specific So still very cool to see how the show is made But it was as much as in detail as some of the previous seasons of the gallery I love seeing the new directors and how they got to choose the The genre for their episodes. I forgot. I didn't write the names of the directors But seeing I think was three I know the one that worked on that Kuro sand episode talking about when he how he had seen the show I wanted knew that that John Farrah seen his movie Minari And he's like I really want to get into that show What is there anything for me to do there and then John Carson?
Okay, this is your episode for you what you're gonna do So I think about what genre you want your episode to kind of encompass So to me that was very illuminating that it doesn't come from the creators like John or Dave or that way they wrote the episodes Oh, you're directing it what generally one this we are he's really right when this is gonna be a shock one very new all detective Kind of feels I really love that one Then you had when we get the pirate episode where you go and show that that went from a pirate swash barking episode at the beginning to then a Savvy private Ryan type this is very ramsy the director this one go to pray saving private Ryan when they're on the streets on Navarro trying to help Grief cargo retake the planet from my favorite Hurricane golden shard and I love one of my favorite things are behind the scenes is the creatures that draw it and the environment And I love that they touch on this just seeing Don't and shard in his Kelp seaweed pizza that hard very time pizza that hard garb taking direction for I gotta go do this I gotta say this I gotta point over here. It's like do you just help see with character just talking like normal to directors I was really funny also great to see that that's a full on costume practical costume with of course I'm sitting at it afterwards for the vocals and the eyes were loved seeing that Love when they're talking about Phil Tippett What do you wanna visit the minds of Mandalore when enjoying goes on that second episode when he gets trapped by the weird spider? Joy creature How they created these ministry sets of the whole minds just so they have an idea what it was gonna look like They're basically those photos can dance to them put that in the volumes for the backgrounds I love seeing that combining all those elements of special effects. Yes, we have the volume We can use it with all the CGI technology, but we can only get there using the miniatures taking photos cans of it 360 degrees.
So we know everything looks that was great to see that One thing that I surprised me and bought me a little bit was that no better of a scale We got the new directors. We got Brendan Wayne. We got everyone that placed them on the lorian Both at hand of course we got a love with her everyone's there no better of a scale understand if he only did the voice We can get on a phone call for 10 50 minutes We just took a little bit and then just paper that in through the episode that would have meant a lot to a lot of people Including myself even if it's just him talking about how it was different shooting this season only being there to be able to do the Voice not being there in person how that changes the way he approaches the character I'm also the story of the in jarn like we just said at the beginning This felt like the ending to his story at least at this point to get Pedro's opinion on how that process went the journey of the Mandalorian of The in jarn from when we first met him walking into this cantina to get a bounty to not just sitting like Thanos at the end of Infinity while just sitting back in his little chateau there with baby the other plane Just see hear him talk about it would have been great is a 15-minute conversation So I don't know why they did it. Maybe he's basically shooting all the other stuff that he's doing which I do understand But give us a little bit.
I'm surprised that we didn't get that hopefully in the end at some point we get to it because we know every time The Robascals being in the red carpet and promoting all the shows he loves talking about him on the lorian Lost all the season talking about working with I can be the forgotten name with both at hand and how that story has gone So I'm surprised that they didn't get him to to talk a little bit about it, but that's fine Alright, so our friend Amy get I see Amy how you doing? Hopefully you're surviving the Twitter Wars of July 1st, 2023 All right, so what else I'll talk real quick about the directors because I said that Peter Rancio So he'll be one of my favorites. I love his movie I got rights of the guardians which I just look seen right now, but he was one of the directors of the first by the voice Meam moving to his fireworks Him talking about coming from the animation department animation world again Same as we've only been able to always work with storyboards and how doing storyboards then help him direct the episodes that he did Well, he knew where every show was gonna be all the secrets So it's great to see a director talking in that sense I got a chart I talked about him What we're talking about minutes we talk a little bit about Mandalore and how the world comes up They come up with the world I love the way they describe the surface of Mandalore this green crystal line surface that comes from real life If a place has just gone through a lot of nuclear weapons nuclear bombs Then after a while those sand crystals are so crystallized and become these green shorts and they just Exposed that to the 100% basically to make the surface of Mandalore So I love seeing that and again brings the limit of his Star Wars You can still use real world elements to make it feel Alien what is based on real life actions, but what though? For goodness being a while.

He's never given that impression He wants to lead he just wants to keep a bill of safe keep his promises and then just leave and people saying that's what makes him a great leader Not wanting to just know all that things and then John Farro saying like he's not Aragon He's not gonna be this try their loner that just comes out of nowhere to be the leader He's never wanted it don't expect it's not Aragon which again goes with a little bit What we've been saying here from the other side talking about both at 10 and Rick from would you not saying that this season?
Book at any such much demon Delorean as Dean Jaren and that's we're not breaking ground here That's something that a lot of people have said we've talked about it here I didn't make sense if these three seasons are kind of the combinations of the engineering story at least for right now It's the central Mandalorian then when season four comes out It's more about book at 10 now that she brought all the clients together How can she keep them together can she rebuild Mandalore because he's a mess right now is the ruins How can you rebuild from that? That's a very strong you can use that anymore as a crush for people if you're not a ruler if you don't have this weapon And also people that might still believe in though in that Asian history saying if you don't have this weapon You're not really a leader how can she remedy that because one thing it's in the moment it might work But then long term I can you keep all those clients together so she'll be interesting and hopefully something that gets explored If season four of the Mandalorian focus is more on book at 10 we still have of course the armorer Are you gonna get along who is still this fight? We don't know who's this fight That was a fun couple of weeks time to find this fight It's very heavy on both attendees gallery episodes everything that that character went through how she went from not wanting to help In jar into saving didn't notice that she rescued him from the guy that stolen the dog Saved that she had at that point and then gave it back to him At the same time say hey doesn't it's not the same to the end saying this weapon should not need that anymore So very cool to get more with book at hand And I think this is not the end for that character in like I should apart and I've been talking about a soca and the movie that they Filoni movie I think it's I think we're gonna see more and it wouldn't surprise me when season 40 mandalorian is announced There is very heavy in both attend and that's just a main character going forward And I would actually enjoy that because at this point same as I said before season three star I thought that that in jarring logo storyline had reaches and it really has at this moment So give me season four talking about some other mandalorians basically book at hand Giancarlo's positive love seeing him. I love how he talks about his character of a mob divian always wanted to improve himself first He wanted baby Yoda couldn't get him that first season then He always wants to be more powerful.
He wanted the dog saver sort of feel more powerful than he had the Dog troopers then the dog trooper or more and then that's not enough in its the force in its those many clones are baby Yoda from Grogo Didn't grow go I should say to be this ultimate warrior which is what he wants right? He's not an actual mandalorian wants to be one wants to be more powerful Dark saver mandalorian armor plus give me the force he couldn't reach that level trying to up the anti with the emperor Love you young color, but don't say that no one's really dead in star where he wants to come back I hope he doesn't I hope they live in dead It's cool for an actor to always want to come back to play those characters that we love so he basically saying yeah He died, but you start was you know they could bring me back. No, no No grimace shake and we're not gonna use the grimace to bring back more Gideon But get wanted to make growth to a grimace shake. Explain to me all this grimace shake I know worries my kids I think my kids to my Donald's a lot we had a grimace shake I don't know where this just came up that everyone wants a grimace shake for something It's weird purple we don't want the grimace to make rogu into a grimace shake.
Well, so maybe we'll give him the power that he needs And then finishing up a little bit Jack Black and this other anyone have more fun than Jack Black being in the mandalorian And the answer is no same with Lee So we've known that she's a big star was from big rogu fan that first I she's there with a grogu hooly on Jack but Jack Black when I I said before I love him for that role he plays it perfectly Yeah, you know, it's Jack Black it doesn't matter. He even had the beard I didn't have to put a fake beard on it. Oh, that's all him on the air. He's there in costume talking about how bomb by the air couldn't just be a Documents guy had to be in the war his dancing his kick is making this back to story of his singing I love Jack Black love that we got him in the mandalorian love his character love that episode actually one of my favorites what one that I Understand what people might not like it, but to me it really worked in that ceiling as a star was just where we're gonna end up You know myself and all they always talk about how we love silly Star Wars We love dumb stupid star Wars and stupid aliens.
It's there's always been there I think my favorite part of the whole gallery episode Which doesn't touch specifically about the mandalorian was in general in general come from came from The phyllone which I've said here before it's not my favorite I don't worship at the altar of the day phyllone He's got some great stuff when it comes to the history of Star Wars and how things connect or snow on there I'm not just a super fan of his story selling style of the other stories that he likes to tell I prefer something else But he's hitting the head in something that I always believe he's talking about Star Wars can be serious But at the same time don't forget that it's silly and it's fun And he he mentioned about Star Wars, you know when the earth Vader is very serious and you gotta be serious You're gonna scare you But then you have to lead 23 people kicking each other in the sense of that we in city go kicking Oh you go that way don't come crying to me when you get lost and then oh he tricked me and oh I'm melting I'm melting and that's it and we all know it and he said something not forgetting what he loved about Star Wars when he was a kid That has always been my point when people say oh we need serious Star Wars we need so I was ready Oh, we need horror Star Wars I understand what you say because we're all grown up with we're not a years and old But that's not what we find in love with Star Wars if he was always when the first time the real trilogy like myself and I have been older The younger kids now my now be older when they saw the real trilogy maybe they came in with the prequels But we find in love with Star Wars because of Luke Skywalker and the whole we saw in him But also the the draw is how silly it was the how much fun we had watching those movies and you can just put out the name Star Wars Make an all rated horror movie and then the Star Wars That's not there's something silly that always me swing in there in Star Wars And I know some people now don't like it and they can primary that joke to the MCU or there's too many jokes I didn't connect with it. Just make it serious You don't need to make everything a gag which I get it and I there's a balance You need to play but Star Wars has always been silly has always been fun And I'll give all the credit in the world to the feeling only for saying that no matter when he's doing it So what even if there's something very serious it has to cut to something silly at some point because that's always and that's why he fell in love as a kid In Star Wars, so why are we trying to deny kids the things that made us love that which is always at this point They also got for the MCU for comic books when people wanted already comic book movies make Batman or Superman Okay, we got Deadpool and Wolverine out with Logan and James Gunn with Please Make on that stuff But you don't need to make all the comic books move it's hard because now we're adults don't grow up with no We fell in love with them because they were silly they were fun all that stuff don't take that away from the kids So I love seeing that coming from they feel only so I love that Alright, so what for you guys out there that have watched the gallery episode was stood out what parts that you really enjoyed Was it listening to the new director talks about the history star wars and getting to work on it The returning directors and how they've grown through the series is it's in Grogo in the little I'd 11 Puppet which was great. I also love that droid bar that we get in class here in class U 15 Again, I can mention a lot of all the creature descent all that stuff and seeing those droids and I said all the droids are new Other different the old work is our droyter we've seen before and I love that also we got Talking about when we're in that class here section when the enjoy and book I'm talking to the droid and the behind the scenes They're actually filming the scenes that droid boss is coming out. It's not just someone speaking regular English and then it gets Doctor over someone behind the scenes with a filter is something just making those droids boys is very cool to keep that level for the actress Yeah, I got nothing else so yeah, that was the behind the scenes You mentioned before there wasn't a lot of breakthrough things that they said something just blew my mind We got a little bit more and how the volume has evolved as a technology but not too much into it We didn't get together the new composer.
He didn't get to talk. He makes new new things with what The ransom had done so again felt more like an overall history lesson or look back at the whole series of the Mandalorian not so much focus Just on season three. It was a little bit different to the other gallery I would see but still enjoyable always go to get behind the scenes for a show that you like again It's one hour 16 minutes and behind the scenes office. We'll rewatch so we'll be doing fandoms real quick I'm gonna talk about the enemy I've been watching Star Trek I've been a Star Trek fan for a long time and the dog times in the night is I was more Star Trek friend than I saw I was fan because there was nothing apart from some books and video games till the pre-booking out and actually the Specialties in the late 90s. I was really into started in a generation all that but a couple of months ago before season two of strange new worlds came out They put that for season three on YouTube So let me give you a shot This topic I want to see Captain Pike with his big hair and all that and I love it I fell in love with strange new worlds from that first episode and I've been shot of it and I Pay for from unplus.
It's all I can say so they got me so I've been watching season two I love the show strange new worlds is one of my favorite new shows at the moment. It's not something that Star Wars fans hate we star wars show and it is this is a story of the week week by week is a new episode different genres It doesn't mean that a lot of people sometimes myself complain about with them on the Lord Why was it sort and with the bad batch? I always say why we doing week to week? We're semi sorry all this stuff strange in worlds if the week is a story of the week with a big story in the background And they jump back to the gorn right that would be gone The first one with the Romulans the cling award just happened So there's all these things up big things up in the background But it's episode focuses on something else and then there's a big episode about the going attack or we're gonna go to the Romulan to the Not also and all that So he does something that we complain a lot with them on the lorium at least especially with the season that people are It's not focused.
This is such a certain world is every episode is something different the acting is great the music is great especially facts the stories the Dialogues everything I love strange new world so much this episode from this past week tomorrow tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow which they go back in time La and and Captain Kirk Go back in 10th to 20th century Earth during Canada fish out of water Love burn my favorite episode so far the whole series also a little bit of a not It's not easy to kill baby Hitler's not that baby Hitler is here and I'm not gonna spoil if you haven't seen it, but when you get a chance to Kill someone that you know, it's gonna do horrible things in the future, but they're still just a kid you can't But the performance is interesting a chron cool place la and and I forget the name of the guy that plays Captain Kirk They just knocked out the part that episode so loves rich in the world one of my favorite now I also started watching Star Trek Picard like I said huge fan of started the next generation when it came out in the 90s So I really wanted to jump into Picard and a little bit more than halfway through the first season and this is more Story-based it's a main story that they're following and every episode moves that story forward So it's very different in the way that it set up to strange new worlds So I really enjoyed this one too. You have Jean-Luc Picard there is a lot of cool what more can you ask and then characters from strength from Next generation and some other Star Trek shows are starting to show up So if you've been a fan from back when you can start you'll enjoy that a little bit more because you'll be able to connect with After 15 so I gotta know it's the enemy we call but Star Trek is very different the Star Wars Yes, both of them are in space. They have star in their name, but the way those two franchises are set up I very different so I never understood why people need to take sides because they're very different really enjoying it And other we don't have Star Wars shows at the moment. I really love in Star Trek and I know my Star Trek kick at the moment I love everything that we're getting from it All right, that was my quick war between fandom just something I do it more to talk about today since like I mentioned before Show today.

I don't pick up on this show I just mean able to talk to you and tell the people that are the guests on the show or in the chat It's the different levels that they show connects with different people. So yeah, that's great And Roberta I'm not doing it in the end. I don't should be at the moment because I haven't watched it I don't know if I'll be able to watch I know that All tea watch this when he's here next week. I'll be honest I work past the movie theater this afternoon, but we're there doing something else, but I'll go watch mission possible I'll go watch open-himer. I'll try to escape to Washington at some point soon. Really want to watch it I enjoyed the whole series. I said a couple weeks ago my ranking at the moment is Right in the end of the last year's eight is my favorite one followed by red is on the Lost Ark Crystal Skull I put it third temple of doom.
I watched it last year wasn't doing to it So I'm very interested to see where the energy falls mostly criticism that I seen against Indiana Jones I think it's the same criticism that we get from about stories from people that grew up with it and have this I Don't know what's the word but this vision of it being this perfect adventure again Because we do up with it and we always love those things and see them differently Then we see them for the first time now that people want have created an image of Indiana Jones are different from what the reality Indiana Jones is also very silly character and even though it's serious Artifacts are his search and serious stories of course with the Nazis and all that there's a lot of silliness into it And I think people see in silly stuff now. They can't oh, what are you doing? But that's the character so I think that's where it's there's some discerning But oh when I watch it, I'll see I'll talk about it And then they'll I guess they also it's a disindenitancy close to the first three for me Which again great because we all of those three movies and a lot of people like table do Mr favorite ones I've seen that one also in three so scroll symmetry to the pickles and not more people coming behind it I liked it. It's just the That swinging through the vines things kind of throws me Just doesn't make sense but I can see them It's just some sense all right, so I'm gonna leave it there and early to the island.
