S6 Ep4: Stay Spooky Phenomecon
from The Whispering Gallery · host Whispering Gallery Podcast
Join me for the nickel tour, an experiment with artificial intelligence (AI), using my Phenomecon 2024 report as only the Whispering Gallery can bring it. With a velvety “blended” of spiced chai latte* and the Phenomecon mantra “we believe” which is a tad more than I’m personally comfortable with. I don’t “believe” carte blanche and personally I would have been more comfortable with “the jury is still out…” and yet the green glowy website had beckoned and there I was. This episode is a short overview of the Phenomecon conference as organized by the experimental AI "Google Notebook LM" from my full episode recording, and notes. What this episode covers
Nick Pope from Ancient Aliens gave a lecture at PhenomeCon 2024 in which he offered "what if's" about sentient artificial intelligence (AI) scenarios. So when Eric told me about Google Notebook LM, an experimental AI tool, I gave it a try. I asked the AI: "please help me refine and organize this podcast script". I provided my rough episode recording (48+ minutes), and my notes from the 4-days spent at the conference in Vernal, Utah. I was presented with 7 suggestions. Next, I decided to try the audio version which is when things became more unnerving. The PhenomeCon episode was condensed down to 8 minutes, presented in podcast form, with a discussion between two unnamed AI hosts. I hope you'll listen to this episode (which is surprisingly "human". The long-form episode is in production.
